Happy Birthday Kami! by

The Kamikaze Kitty, better known as Kami, celebrates her 18th birthday

She's still a bit frail from her recent bouts of illness, but she's
bright, alert, interested and still rules the house. I'm not sure how
much time we have left,...

Dolly the Cat only eats dry food. by
Gail
If she is eating a high quality dry food, she will get all of the nutrients
she needs. Remember to provide plenty of fresh water for her.

cat food ratings? by
[email protected]
Hi -
Is there a site which has rated cat foods for nutritional qualities?
My cat suddenly is turning up his nose at what he's eaten for years. I
got him to down a little Deli Cat, but I wonder if it isn't more like a
treat and not something for him to eat steadily.
I think I spoiled him with...

Is there some supplement we can put on her dry to makeup...

Are there any records on what people fed their pet dogs and cats before
modern commercial food became available? Were dogs and cats fed
different foods as we now insist they must be?

"Safe" non-cumulative poison? by
Jim Leonard
We have two cats, once of which is an "excellent" mouser. I write
"excellent" because, while he is great at catching them, he is terrible
at killing them. He brought in a pregnant female field mouse from
outside, and then lost her, and now we have a mouse problem.
The last time we had a mouse...

Also, The man I got the kitten from obviously wasn't taking great care of
this little kitten (being the reason I couldn't resist taking him home) It
was a quick exchange. When I called him later that night to figure out what
kind of food he had been giving him he tells me "oh, I don't remember"...

New to the group, and with a problem by
m4816k
A few days ago I've noticed that my cat (male, 1 year old, never ill before)
is sneezing. I thought "OK, these days lots of people sneeze too, weather
changes often and it's windy, no big deal.". But this morning I noticed he
got diarrhea and secretion from the nose, as well as wattery eyes. He...

Fighting cats, horribly scared kitten by
ZailaGrace
I have 7 month old neutered male tabby, he's been spoiled ever since we got
him being treated like a child. We recently got a 12 week male un-neutered
kitten from a man who had been giving them away for free, who immediately ran
under our futon in the living room and has been hiding there for 2...

Cat heaving often by

I have a 5 year old B & W tabby that has been having problems with
throwing up several times a week. It's as if it is bulimic. She is a
house cat and never goes outside. She was spayed at 1 year old or
thereabouts with no problems. Otherwise she exhibits good health.
It is not loosing any...

Easter lilies - reminder. by

With Easter round the corner I have noticed lots of lilies in the shops.
Please keep them well away from your cats.
For those who do not know - the pollen of lilies is lethal for cats.

Update on old lady cat by

A month or so ago I posted regarding our 17 year old who suddenly became
very wobbly and had trouble keeping her balance. I promised several of you
that I would post back ... so here I am.
I'm pleased to report that she's made a 90% recovery, even though we don't
know what might have caused this....

list a while back but I...

help please - perineal urethrostomy questions - LONG by

My male cat Ashley (will be 5 yrs old in May) got blocked a little over
2 weeks ago. Took him to the vet, he was cathetherized (sp?) and
unblocked, but the vet said they couldn't get whatever was blocking him
to come out - they just flushed it back into the bladder. The vet said
