funny kitten behavior` by MadHatter
when my kitty no longer likes her food, canned food, she "buries" it with motions around the bowl that she makes in the litter box. i've seen cats do that before, but it's cute every time. -L

Update on Bubbas by Karen M.
Thanks everyone for their kind words when I posted a few days ago. Bubbas has been diagnosed with malignant histiocytosis. (A good layman's description can be found he http://www.xs4all.nl/~gvdt57/histiocytosis.html). Basically it's a rare very aggressive form of cancer that is nearly always...

How can they ship 40 pounds of litter for $16? by John Doe[_2_]
Looking a gift horse in the mouth, I asked how they can afford to ship 40 pounds of litter for $16. This is Chewy's response, probably not meant to explain anything. "FedEx works just as hard as we do to make sure all of our Chewy family members are happy with their orders. The specific costs...

Skinny Cat by Lou B.
First of all, thanks to all who regularly post here! Especially to the person who responded to the question about kitty constipation - I got rid of the clay litter and my 19-year-old Kiki is doing much better! Now then, I have her on thyroid medication (overactive) and she is doing well after 3...

When your cat dies will you.... by Gloria
have it cremated or burry it? We have a funereal parlor now that does both human and pet cremations (not in the same machine). And also a cemetery is starting a place for cremated pets near the human owners......I like that idea. With regular pet cemeteries.....it may not always be a pet cemetery....

Three Way Cat Tunnel from Collections Etc. Might help Gabby & Phat Kat? by -Lost
I almost forgot! This looks neat. http://www.collectionsetc.com/Item76291.aspx Gabby and Phat Kat were playing for a moment tonight. Gabby was stuck inside a pillow case and Phat Kat was rolling all over it. Gabby kept pushing forward, Phat Kat kept rolling. Too cute! Maybe this would make...

YES!! Cat Killer Recalled by Karen Chuplis
http://www.journalstar.com/local.php?story_id=69553 They pulled their heads out and DID it. I really wasn't sure if they would because these small town people are rather afraid (as you can tell as most wouldn't say how they voted or are reluctant to say what they think) to go against "the popular...

Sterilite boxes are SELF-CLEANING litter boxes disguised as storage boxes by John Doe
If you haven't tried them, you don't know what you're missing. They might not come in every size you need, but you just can't beat the fact that they are SELF-CLEANING. I think that's really cool. Talking about the ones with the smooth cloudy clear sides. Apparently it's the type of plastic. If...

How to treat a cat when she throws up? by RPSinha
I know it is not the most refined question you are likely to face today, but I would like to ask the more experienced crowd he How do you treat a cat when she throws up? It has got to be uncomfortable and disagreeable moment for them. The cat I feed tries to run away from the spot when this...

New boy under the bed by dgk
I picked up a new playmate for Espy. I went into the wilds of New Jersy yesterday with my co-worker and made friends with his cat Nipsy, and then took him with me. That was the plan. Nipsy showed up outside their door a few months back and they fed him. Then, after he was attacked by something...

Antibiotics for upper respiratory illness by Knack
My 14-week old kitten Fracas has still not completely overcome the illness that causes him to sneeze rapidly about 4-30 consecutive times, mostly in the morning just before I give him a refrigerated liquid suspension of amoxicillin. Fracas appears to respond positively to amoxicillin, although the...

help - declawing by Juls
I'm just devastated and could use some advice on how to handle this. My little cousin (like my little sister to me) is all set next fall to start college, and she's planned to be a vet since she could talk. The only thing that changes regularly is what kind of vet. (A few weeks ago, she was...

claw clipping frequency by J1Boss
Skipjack is a blue tabby with the cutest white paws anyone has ever seen (trust me!). He's 2. When I first adopted him at ~5 months old, I clipped his claws regularly. I stopped, because his claws haven't been a problem - he only scratches "approved" surfaces and is an affectionate cat who never...

New cat still hiding after 30 hours by [email protected]
I would not say I am worried, but just wondering how long this might go on and how I might coax new cat Destiny out of hiding: Picked my new 1 1/2 year cat up yeterday from the cat room at the Humane Society where she seemed fond enough of my petting. Took her for a vet exam and shots on the way...

is it cruel to keep a cat inside that used to be an outdoor cat? by kitkat via CatKB.com
I have two adopted cats and both were outdoor cats in the past with previous owners. Both of my cats look longingly out the windows and try to escape anytime the door opens even for a second. One of my cats seems "depressed". He sleeps all day and never moves from under a chair. However, the...

Severe fleas: can I safely apply Frontline 2 weeks apart? by Maharlika
We got 2 new kittens a couple months ago. They are 4 months old now. A few weeks ago, we suddenly realized we had severe fleas. We had the vet flea bath them and he sold us Frontline. Right at the same time, we flea bombed the house but it was only partially effective. So, we applied the...
