Be sure to keep your black cats indoors, as Halloween is
a week away. Also don't adopt any black cats out until
November.

Making old cat & young cat get along? by
Robotech_Master
I have a fat, oldish, spayed female cat, whose chief hobby is sitting
on the window ledge and hissing and growling at any of the
neighborhood strays that wander by.
The neighbors have an adorable half-grown gray and white Siamese.
Recently, the neighbors have moved out, and it looks as though...

hookworm disinfectant by
RedRiver35
Good morning.
Chelle here.
What do you use to clean/disinfect your hands after scooping litter of a cat
with
hookworms (or any worms)? I want to avoid contaminating my others. Mr.
I-have-hookworms is currently in isolation for two more weeks.
TIA

when find kittens at shelter? by
quilterhusband
We went to the humane shelter today to adopt two kittens. We want two so we
can share them better in our family and so they will be happier when alone,
but there were no kittens there. Only older cats...and no bonded pairs
which we would consider too if young.
Is there a good time of year when...

moving away from feral community by
Smcavana
My sister and her husband have a business in a Seattle neighborhood with a
large feral cat community. They have been taking care of this community for
about
10 years, feeding, vaccinating, spaying, neutering, nursing and finding homes
for kittens etc. They are now needing to move their business to...

Hi,

"maybe" where someone rescues cat's with this problem. She lives in
upper NY and I was wondering if any of you know of a place near there
that take these...

ear tipping question by
RedRiver35
Good evening ladies and gentlemen:
I am concerned about ear tipping my ferals.
I don't have a "colony" as such, and I don't see most of the cats for
much more than 4 months. There really will be no one here to feed
them when I move away.
Several have not returned after being trapped and fixed.

Lucy found a home! by
Kalyahna
Ah, the excitement. I've had fosters for months now, and one of them was
finally adopted about three hours ago! DLH white w/ orange, 7yo FDC,
surrendered for box problems. And she got a home with a senior lady who
happens to be a neat freak and was very very excited about the whole
process. She's...

Just wanted to thank everyone that responded to my question about taming
a feral kitten, you were all very helpful and gave me some great idea's.
I wasn't able to trap her today, she's a smart little thing, I have a
trap, she managed to eat the food, without hitting the trip on the trap.
I will try...

Wanted to thank everyone again, I caught her today. She is NOT happy..
I will take her to the vet soon, but want to get her a bit more used to
people. I have her in a large crate, with litter and food. Tonight I
reached in with a glove on and pet her for a very long time, she finally
purred for a...

Feline Parvo by
rose ricciuto
There has been a large outbreak of what the media is labeling feline
parvo virus at the Polk County animal shelter in central Florida.
I've never heard of feline parvo but they say it's incredibly contagious
and very deadly in a short span of time. The newswoman covering the
story for TV was...

FOUND CAT in NJ - Holland Township by
gsw615
This cat has been hanging around our house since last Wednesday. VERY
friendly, gray and white with a red collar (unfortunately no tag or
anything). Originally figured it was a neighbor's cat that just found its
way to our yard for the snacks we throw out to the birds, but it's been
trying to...

Greece exterminating cats (and other rants) by
RedRiver35
Hello:
I seems like it is not too difficult for people to decide not to externimate
dogs as a bothersome vermin, but when it comes to cats it is apparently a
completely different issue - any compassion and common sense flies out
the window.
People will go out of their way to run over a cat on the...

Serious question about my LATE cat!!!? by
Slickwater
So my cat was about 20 years old and the thing looked like it was in
agony. I have been walkin reported to be walking sideways lately and
loosing a ton of hair. Upon inspecting the clumps of hair that were
falling out, I saw that they were due to these red lesions on the cats
back. For fear of some...
