Broke Down: Fed 'Em Soft Food (Also, Iams?) by
noone
Well I broke down & did it. ***As a treat*** anyway, I got a couple of cans
of SOFT food. Friskies, Salmon Dinner. Cats are EATING it UP.
What the heck, at 10/3.50 (35c a can), why not. As a TREAT anyway, I'd say
(maybe) 3-5 cans a week for both cats, with hard food the rest of the time.
I don't...

Tuna bad for cats? by
Robotech_Master
My aunt, who is a nurse and a cat-fancier, was over at my place the
other day and saw the cans of tuna cat food I had. She told me that
tuna was actually bad for cats--male cats in particular.
Is this true?
I would have thought that even if it was, it would apply only to
canned, "pure" tuna; I...

Struggling with decision... by
NateB323
I've been posting about TB and our battle with his liver disease. He is in the vet right now on IV fluids because he had a bad weekend, vomiting up to 4 times a day. I would have to syringe feed him right after he vomitted to make sure he got some food in him, then 3-4 hours later he would vomit...

Strange peeing behaviors by
Holly
My 2 year-old cat is displaying some strange peeing behaviors.
First of all, she will not pee when I am away from home. Many times
it is 12 hours or more before she pees (I've been keeping track) and
she will not go until after I come home from work. When I am home, so
usually pees about every...

Mytsery...What kind of cat doesn't shed and is a limp couch potato? by
Ro
I adopted a lovely short haired gray female stray cat with large yellow
eyes, about 6 mo ago from a local shelter. (She was in a cage on Death Row
for 5 weeks). Vet checked her out...she/s probably 3-4 yrs old, had been
spayed and declawed previously....other than needing a teeth/gum cleaning
and...

Cat finally found (airline) by
MaryL
Here's a newspaper article with a happy ending (because the cat was found)
but with a lot of trauma (because it details the story of a cat that escaped
from its carrier as it was being placed on a plane for transport). The cat
was finally found, identified through an implanted microchip, and...

monkey's conversation by
sukrati
Once in America a plane crashed, only a monkey who was traveling in
the plane was left alive. Fortunately the monkey was intelligent
enough to understand our language and reply in actions. The officials
went to see the monkey in the hospital and had a talk with the
monkey.
Officer: "When the...

Catnip! What happened? by
Kelly Greene
What's with catnip these days? The cats don't react to it at all. I bought 3
different brands and none have any effect. I remember my cats years ago
going bonkers with something filled with catnip.

cat with diaorrhea - but only when she goes outside by
Mike Scott
An odd one here.
We have two cats (mother - about 6 years old - and daughter); both
normally go out, both eat the same food (dry kibbles - neither will
touch wet food) which they've been on for years.
The mum has lately developed a problem with diaorrhea. But this only
seems to occur when...

Behavior modification; cats and strangers by
Ajanta
Last year, this cat used to visit me regularly in late afternoon, eat
her favorite canned foods, watch tv, then leave.
During the winter a family emergency forced us to go overseas. We had
an apt-sitter, who I couldn't expect to be like me and who mostly left
dry food out. At least the cat could...

Holly is a teenager now (Long) by
MaryL
Today is Holly's 13th birthday. She was still another in my string of
"happy accidents" adoptions. That is, I started out to adopt one type of
cat on each occasion, got one entirely different, and have been happy ever
since that it worked out this way. In fact, I finally learned *never* to...

Licking glass by
Glenn
My mother's cat has been exhibiting some strange behavior.
He likes to lick plastic and glass. Could this be a form of
pica? He exhibits some other pica-like behavior -- he likes
to eat ribbons, which are certainly not good for him.
Assuming this is pica, I've heard it's good to offer them...

Is there a website for helpful hints on road travel with a cat by
Kuisse0002
The day will come when I have to relocate back to my homestate and that means
bringing the cat. I have to decide between flying and driving. With flying -
door to door it will be about 5-7 hours. With driving it will be about
two-three days on the road. My first option will be to fly. But in the...

For those following our saga...
Peewee is doing poorly. He was at the vet all day Fri PM and
yesterday. Yesterday he ate some, and seemed perkier by 5PM last
night. Of course, since these things happen at the worst possible
time, DH and I were OOT on a much needed vacation. I got a call in
the...
