Skinny Cat by
Lou B.
First of all, thanks to all who regularly post here! Especially to the
person who responded to the question about kitty constipation - I got
rid of the clay litter and my 19-year-old Kiki is doing much better!
Now then, I have her on thyroid medication (overactive) and she is doing
well after 3...

To Megan and Mary - O'Malley/Xena (long) by
Andr0meda
Dear Megan and Mary,
Many Thanks for taking so much of your time and your trouble to help me make
my two cats friends for life.
I really appreciate all your help.
After reading your posts under "O'Malley-Hercules & Xena......." and Mary's
email, I have done some thinking.
First of all, even before...

Are chicken bones OK for cats? by
~Shelly~
I just read another poster mention giving her cat a drumstick bone to
chew on. I used to give that to my cats, but a vet told me it wasn't
good for them - he said slivers could become impaled in the mouth,
throat, or even puncture the stomach or intestines. None of my cats
had never had a problem...

One week and 3 days after introduction - more advice? by
Danathar
So...
So I've had Marigold for a week and 3 days now. Marigold is getting
fustrated being cooped up in my room (and so am I because she is
Meowing at the early hours of the morning!). If I let whiskers in my
room, she tolerates Marigold as long as Marigold does not get within 3
feet of whiskers...

Urination - Help! for Depressed Owner by
Richard
I am depressed and in need of advice about a urinating cat!
I adopted a male neutered Balinese/Siamese mix a year ago. He is now
about 3 years old. The reason he was given up was because "the
boyfriend didn't like cats."
When I brought him home, I placed him on my bed and he began to urinate
on...

Severe fleas: can I safely apply Frontline 2 weeks apart? by
Maharlika
We got 2 new kittens a couple months ago. They are 4 months old now.
A few weeks ago, we suddenly realized we had severe fleas. We had the
vet flea bath them and he sold us Frontline. Right at the same time,
we flea bombed the house but it was only partially effective. So, we
applied the...

advice re moving cats to new locale by

I posted this message at another cat newsgroup and got two
helpful replies. I am posting it here (much larger) to see
what else I can learn.
I'm moving from my apt to another place across town in a week
and will be taking my two cats, Dan-Dan (male, at least 12yrs
old) and Whitey (female, around...

Elvis Update :( by
ElvisRocks
I just got back from my vet & thankfully, my "real" vet was there but it's
really bad news.
He could feel tumors on his kidney and said by the bloodwork he appears to
be in
kidney failure. He kept him to put him on IV's and take xrays, etc. He's
lost 1.3 lbs. in only
9 days. I can go visit...

Unbelievable BS! WRT declawing from the SFVMA by
[email protected]
I am appalled. This jerk is no friend to cats and obviously has no
ethics as evidenced by his blatant promotion of lies and distortions.

High CPK enzyme, vomit, no appetite by
[email protected]
My 13 yo cat Ginger has been vomiting and showing a lack of appetite
for 2 -3 days. The vet checked her and ran a blood panel. All chem
was normal except for an elevated (very) CPK enzyme. She has no other
symptoms, is being social and even playing. The vet suspects
toxoplasmosis. He is...

Shouldn't cats clean themselves after using the litter box? by
Morac
I picked up 2 young (~5 months) domestic short hair cats 3 weeks ago
and they do periodically clean themselves, but they never seem to do
so right after using the litter box.
This becomes more of a problem when a cat is having soft stools as a
small amount tends to stick around on the cat's rear...

Shamrock gets allergy tested (long, includes some test results) by
Cheryl
His dermatologist appointment was today. This vet is very very
thorough in both her examination and taking his history by asking
questions. Based on his history plus what she saw, she didn't
believe it to be caused by a bacterial skin infection, which is
common, but he does have a secondary...

insulin resistant cat by
BigBlocky!
Hi. I have a cat whose diabetes was until recently manageable through diet.
He started to lose weight so I took him to see the veterinarian. She told
me that his blood sugar was high enough that dietary intervention alone
wasn't going to be good enough - that he'd require insulin. I left my...

Food Question (please read, then killfile the troll) by

From: Laura R.

am very fortunate not to have them. There is absolutely nothing about
your life that will ever inspire envy in me, you bitter, sagging
frump.
People w/o children usually respond to other people in the manner...

Royal Canin? by

Is Royal Canin widely accepted as a high quality, premium cat food? If it
matters, I am referring specifically to the Sensible Choice Chicken Meal & Rice
Formula (adult).
Thanks in advance!

Tucker weight loss update by
Rene
In case you haven't been following, I started Tucker on a new, canned
food only diet to help him lose weight. (Long story short, my vet gave
me poor information and he gained 5 pounds in 8 months!)
He's been on the diet almost 6 weeks and is doing great! He's lost 1
lb. 10 oz. so far! Initially,...
