feline distemper by peter
Our 2 year old cat whom we thought we'd had fixed came home pregnant. She had four kittens who have been healthy till a few days ago. They started vomiting and have diahrea--took them to the vet and he's diagnosed distemper--very low white blood count in the one that was tested and high...

Comfortable temperature range by Newbie
What is the temperature range over which cats are comfortable? I would like to have some sense of when they must have heating or airconditioning, and I don't necessarily want to go by human instincts.

I'm not proud... by Candace
I'll admit...I wanna know who *all* the outers are and it's driving me crazy that some people seem to *know." Of course, they could be guessing like I am and just pretending to know but I'm not convinced of that... Who the hell are y'all? Let's fess up and then have a big group hug and all be...

Should vomiting cats skip a meal? by Ajanta
I have a cat that visits me and I feed her more or less regularly. Of course she is not my pet, so I don't control everything she eats. Today, whlile she was just sitting around and before I could give her food, she started vomiting. She seemed fine after that and was even expecting her meal (from...

respiratory problems with kitten? home cures? by Nancy R via CatKB.com
I have an 11-12 week old kitten that I adopted from a lady down the road. The kitten has been very healthy but for what seemed like a hairball problem she developed a couple of weeks ago. Then after I started treating her for what I believed was a hairball, she started sneezing and acting like she...

will 110V kill a 1 1/2 pound kitten? by [email protected]
Hi, I have seen some discussion here on how to stop cats chewing electrical cords. I have a slightly different question on the subject. I have a 6 week old kitten, 1 1/2 pounds now, and he loves to bite and scratch electrical cords. I sprayed lots of some bitter-tasting deterrent from a pet...

Any fabric designed to act as a "hairbrush" by Kiran
I want my cat to avoid hairballs and do try to brush her everyday. However, it occurred to me that while she resists brushing, she likes to roll around all the time quite happily, and if a fabric was designed to remove hair, that would be the best solution? Any ideas? Kiran

Tell me why.. by CestLaVie
I have an ailing cat. He's 15. He's had diabetes for three years and used to have seizures when his sugar got too high. There's a mass in his chest - either cancer or heart disease; the operation to find out would finish him off. His heart has been slowing down - which, apparently, is unusual...

Jack's not doing so well by Juls
He seems to be getting worse, not better. He's eating, but just little bits of this and that and when I give him one thing, he takes a bite, then stops. He's sleeping a LOT, much more than usual. He's very clingy and crying a lot. (I can handle the cling, and just kind of carry him around...

Ringworm, ringworm, ringworm! by Laurie

These are black kittens (strike one, unfortunately) who aren't 8 weeks anymore,...

UK cat repellant spray- any suggestions? by Lesley
Hi all With two completely mad furballs we have developed a fairly tolerant response to occasional incidents when furniture gets clawed but we have a problem.... Sarrasine has developed almost a fetish for clawing at the speaker cover on the left hand speaker. She knows she's not to do it and...

Hi. We've had a stray cat at our house for a month or so. We decided to adopt him because he is so sweet and follows us around like a puppy. We took him to the vet to be neutured etc. and found out he has FIV. Does anyone have experience with this? We have another indoor cat who is used to...

Cat food - which have the lowest phosphorus? Paging PhilP by Juls
PhilP, are you out there? I know you know a lot about feline nutrition, and really could use your input. In reading and talking about Dmitri's CRF, I'm seeing the controversy over whether or not low protein diet is the way to go. But the one thing is clear...the lowest amount of phosphorus seems...
