Follow-up on Speckles by
JBHajos
Speckles' lab results came back today. She does, indeed, have
hyperthyroidism. She'll be starting a regimen of pills (she who goes
into tornado-mode at the first sight of one) for a month, then
retested. No cure, of course, but should help with the stomach and
heart-murmur problems. Thanks for...

Follow-up to "need sticking purrs" by
Cheryl
Thanks everyone for the well wishes for Jake the stray cat. He went
to his new Paw today. It felt like giving a child away even though
I've adopted out fosters before. I guess he has a special place in my
heart since he doesn't seem to have had a home before and he was so
friendly and so sad out...

Follow-up: Wish Me Luck! by
jmcquown[_2_]
I am unclear as to how best to present my financial information to the
President of the DIC (Dataw Island Club) Board, Dave Muehl. Like many
people these days, I do my banking online. I pay my bills online. I
don't receive paper statements.
Anyway, Dave said I should email him the...

Gabey8
I have a followup job interview this morning. Please send prayers, purs,
good thoughts, etc that I get this position. I've been out of work since
February when my temp job ended, and I've been trying like crazy to land a
permanent job. I NEED to be working.
Thanks! And to all my fellow job...

Followup on my mom's surgery by
Daniel Mahoney
My mom was diagnosed with yet another cancerous tumor 2-3 weeks ago. Her
oncologist last week and scheduled her for surgery this last Monday.
Her surgery was uneventful. She experienced quite a bit of pain the
first night, but on Tuesday she was feeling a lot better. She was able
to go home...

Followup on purrs for my dad by
Cheryl
He had an endoscopy and they found esophageal cancer. I'm very scared,
though both of my parents are acting like it's no big deal. I think for my
dad he at least finally has a diagnosis, but while I braced for this one,
it's hard to hear cancer is what it is. I'm going to go with what they...

Fond Memories of Fedders (with a little Schwartzie thrown in) by
jmcquown[_2_]
He wasn't my cat but I was around him so much I feel he was a member of
my extended family. (Schwartzie is, too, of course.)
He was a little pipsqueak of a cat with a big raspy meow! He was a
black cat with green eyes. Not emerald green like my Persia. Very
light green, like an old...

fondue dinner by
Monique Y. Mudama
We invited friends over for an oil fondue dinner. Such fun!
They brought a spinach salad with strawberries, walnuts, and an herbed
Greek cheese.
To cook in the oil we had buffalo and beef cubes (from, as they call
it around here, Whole Paycheck (Whole Foods), but man was it good),
plus breaded...

Food (still not OT?) by
CatNipped[_5_]
Ben and I have lived here in Spring for about 8 years now. We travel the
road to Target quite a bit (even though we shop at the cheaper Wal-Mart) -
but we've never before noticed the Chinese restaurant directly opposite
Target. Just out of the blue, Monday, Ben asked if I wanted to "settle"...

Food Anomalies by
James[_5_]
I had always thought that cats didn't care for sugary items. We have about
150-200 hummingbirds that we feed every season. My wife was mixing the
boiled sugar/water concentrate and Rambo started drinking the concentrate.
He also likes popcorn, peanuts, cashews, wheat crackers, turkey bacon, home...

Food Concerns... by
Kyla `=^..^=`
For the past couple of days, all four of our kitties, Mosey, Pookie, Sqweex
and Pipps, haven't been wanting to eat their 'gooshy fudz' aka
canned/tinned.
I have no clue what's up with that...they get Friskies canned Tender Morsels
Beef in the morning and chicken at bedtime, with Friskies Indoor...

Food critic by
Mark Edwards
I just had a mug of clam chowder, with a dash of Tabasco in it. When I
was finished, Little Boy was eager to see if I had any left.
So I put the mug down on the floor for him. He tells me this is just
wrong, on so many levels, and he will just have to go see what Senyah has.
Hugs and...

Food for convalescents? by
Alphonze[_2_]
Naughty and Kiki have both been ill during the last week - some kind
of infection that Kiki picked up at TED's while having her tooth out,
maybe. Anyway, they've been off their food, and both pretty miserable.
I've been their veterinary nurse - force-feeding them high-protein
catfood through a...

Food games by
Pat[_3_]
This morning Dave visited the farmer's market. I had asked for a few tomatos
(we didn't get very many this year for some weird reason; last year we swam
in them), he came back with about a million green beans. Humongous beans,
thick and half as long as my forearm. No sooner did he set the bag...

food inspector by
David Yehudah
Sam has turned into the family food inspector. We've been feeding the
kitties on the kitchen table since Toby and Mac had to be put on diets.
Their meager portions have both ravenous all day, and we couldn't keep
them out of the cat's food unless we put it out of reach. Hence the food
dish on the...

Food preferences by
CATherine
Tonight we had roast chicken and cornbread dressing with celery, which
I always accompany with a big scoop of cranberry sauce. The smell of
the chicken had Sheba at my feet and Robin on the window ledge trying
to reach my shoulder; and both were trying to convince me they were
starving.
So I got...

Food supplements by
---MIKE---
I add Cosequin to the canned food twice daily. After several months,
Amber seems to be walking better. I also give Tiger six pieces of
Friskies Dental Diet at bedtime (Amber doesn't usually want any). At
the last vet visit they said his teeth looked good. These things seem
to work!

Food thread by
Marina
How about a strange-things-my-cat(s)-will-eat thread? We haven't had one
of those for while.
I'll start with Mir, since her list is shorter:
- cheese
- yoghurt
- sweetcorn, preferably off the cob
- orange juice (yes, she's one of the few cats in the world who don't
mind citrus fruit)
She does...
