Feral cats _Evolution_ by Stephen Baxter by Peter D. Tillman
In article , "Bill Reich" wrote: Well, cats are already pretty effective predators. Baxter has them all die off because they're "too dependent on humanity". Given how readily cats go feral, I'm skeptical. (And note...

Feral helpers by Mark Edwards
I went grocery shopping today. When I get home and unload the groceries, I take them out of the trunk and sit them next to the door until the trunk is empty, then take them inside. Today, every time I would take some of the groceries inside, Pilot, Sugar Kitten and OtherKitty would be rooting...

Feral kitties! by [email protected]
As I might have mentioned earlier, my company recently moved to a new location a few miles from where we used to work. One of the best benefits of the new place is that there's a foot path running right behind our building that runs along the San Francisco bay for miles. The city built a levee all...

Feral purrs update by Dan M
I got a call yesterday afternoon from Fix Our Ferals, a feral rescue/neuter organization in the Bay area. They know of some rescue workers in the Livermore area, and will be putting them on the case. It looks like those poor kittens living under the trash balers might have some caring humans...

Feral purrs, please by Dan M
This morning I stumbled upon some kittens that could use some purrs. I was delivering a load of fiberglass insulation to a company in Livermore, California (just east of Oakland and San Francisco). It was going to take a while to get my trailer unloaded, so I was walking around outside the...

Ferals always suprise you... by Helen Miles
I've been introducing another new dog into the house these last 2 weeks as I'm looking after him for a few months for my friend. A great big 18 month old black labrador called Shadow. Inital reaction from the cats was "oh f*ck, a big dog" and everyone ran scared. He's been confined to the kitchen...

Ferals in the house by Mark Edwards
This morning Miss Emily came inside for her crunchies. I finished feeding all the ferals and went back to bed. A couple hours later, a pretty grey girlkitty rubs her face against mine, purrs, and cuddles up to me. Miss Emily eventuallywanted back out, but it was nice to share a pillow with...

Festive Felines by wafflycat
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5573921179750811749&q=genre%3Acomedy&hl=en Suitably silly - enjoy. Oh and saw a t-shirt slogan which amused me - scroll down - offence warning - not offspring suitable! .. .. ..

Festive hunting... by dirtylitterboxofferingstospammers
The mighty huntress, Waffles, the one-eyed dark avenger, destroyer of rodents, has the festive spirit upon her. She's just brought in a freshly hunted shrew. She has walked into the office with said shrew clamped in her jaws, along with an ivy leaf and a bit of conifer... and dropped it at my...

Fetching Behavior by CajunPrincess
We had Prissy for so long (almost 20 yrs) that when she passed away I thought it would be forever before we would be thinking about another cat into our lives. But we decided to take the plunge after only a few months. We recently adopted Kona and Avery from the cats up for adoption at our vet...

Feud (Long) by David Yehudah
I tell you, these neighbors of mine are nuts! The other day Mac managed to dig under the fence, run over to the neighbor's house, and take a big dump in their front yard right in the path to the front door. When the neighbor came home from work that evening, he noticed Mac and yelled at him to go...

Few kitty snippets by Krista
This seems like maybe a good time to post about the cats. Tigger is the neighbors' seven month old kitten; he spends a lot of time at our office hanging out with our lawcat Ozzy, with whom he is best buddies. We are the ones who have twice taken Tigger to TED, though, and he has NOT forgotten. ...

Few more snippets by LOL
Lula has a thing for jewelry. I habitually wear a watch, a bracelet, and my wedding ring, and she frequently seizes one of these with her teeth and yanks hard, hard enough that she'll succeed in breaking the bracelet one of these days. I can't figure out, though, whether she disapproves of...

Few pics of the guys by Cheryl Sellner
Saw my mom today and she gave me the beds she made for the kitties. One was small (they tend to really shrink when felted) but they didn't care about that. I think cats like small things to squeeze into. Shamrock and Rhett found the one with the eyelash trim, and Scarlett liked the small one but I...

Fez and Rufous are officially adopted! by Victor M. Martinez
I was running errands and decided to stop at the humane society and formalize our adoption of the boys. They were checking in a momma cat with 3 (or 4?) kittens, about 3 weeks old. Somebody dumped them at the pound, where they would've been euthanized, but the folks at the SPCA go there twice a...

Fez and Rufous at TED by Victor Martinez
Today we took Fez and Rufous for their annual checkup and vaccinations. They did great! Not a peep out of them, not even when they got poked. Fez was afraid of TED for some reason, but Rufous was most indiferent. :) They're both sleeping now, after having dinner with the gang. Fez is 2 oz heavier...

Fez and Rufous at TED's tomorrow by Victor M. Martinez
Fez and Rufous have their second scheduled visit to TED tomorrow for some shots. They didn't mind it that much last time, so I'm sure they'll be fine. However, calming purrs are always appreciated. :) Victor M. Martinez http://www.che.utexas.edu/~martiv

Fez and Rufous Excellent Adventure by Victor Martinez
Well, not really excellent if you ask them, but quite good if you ask me. :) Fez and Rufous went to TED for their annual check up yesterday and both got a clean bill of health. Unlike their siblings that have gone to TED so far this summer, these guys were mute the entire drive. Only Fez would...

Fez and Rufous: The Raid by Victor M. Martinez
Like their counterparts Bonnie and Clyde, Fez and Rufous like to work as partners in crime. I was walking to the kitchen just a couple of minutes ago, when I saw Rufous sitting on the entrance to the green bathroom. Just sitting there, kinda looking in, like nothing's going on. He...
