need help for my Reggie by Glitter Ninja
The Reggie saga continues... Reggie is about 10 years old and has always been in good health. In March, Reggie got what we thought was a cold and an eye infection. The vet said it was actually an eye scratch and gave him an ointment, which never really did the trick. Later the vet said Reggie had...

Adult Cat does not use litterbox by goddessgina
Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me. A few months ago we adopted a cat from a local rescue group. We knew at the time that he would not "go" inside the litterbox. We were told that he went outside the litterbox and had gone on the litter a few times as long as the litter was on a flat surface. To...

Conan Hysteria and a Challenge by [email protected]
I am just shaking my head in disbelief at how this online rescue attempt has snowballed into hundreds of posts, and so many people actually clamoring to adopt, or aid in the adoption, of one cat. It's a good thing. He's a lucky cat; no matter how many people don't like the methods implemented, he...

Charlie Wilkes TOS'd by EasyNews by Charlie Wilkes
Oh well. Here I still am. But there is no need for me to be here. Monica is in the virtual stoning pit, and Dan the Man has become Dan the Dubious in more than a few minds... So I am going to go out to the island and stay off Usenet for awhile. When I come back, maybe I will have a different...

My first trip to the Humane Society (LONG) by Dan
My sweet Ariel, who adopted me in April of 1990, passed away this weekend. Even after just a few days without, I knew I needed to find a new kitty. I decided to pay my first visit to the local Humane Society (Champaign, IL pop.150,000). I'd heard and read various and sundry things about the...

Kitten Behavior Problem by Aryn G via CatKB.com
Hi. I recently wrote one of these messages for advice on my kitten urinating on the floor. One of my thoughts was that it was a urinary tract infection, but now i know that it isn't the case. I tried one of the ideas some one wrote about laying plastic down and my kitten a female who is spayed...

LOL! by CatNipped
I forgot which thread it was in, but we were talking about how courageous cats are. I was just watching Animal Planet's "Amazing Animal Videos". There was a home video of black bear walking up to a guy's house and looking in the window (the guy was shooting it from his living room). A...

Rescued mother cat by Amy V via CatKB.com
Hello - About 3 weeks ago, my husband and I rescued a litter of 4 kittens in our neighborhood. After fostering them with lots of help and guidance from our local VSA volunteers, they all have new homes. We had seen momma kitty when she was pregnant, but could never trap her or even get close. She...

"stay away" by ken
Does anyone have esperience with a sensor-device called STAY AWAY? If a cat jumps on a table or counter, the sensor sets off a noise and a blast of air? Does it work and if so, where can you buy it? Thanks Ken

New Old News - Fluffy Cat Food by whitershadeofpale
I figured out that 4 Lbs of Dry Lite Cat food takes up more volume than 4 Lbs of Regular. (A 4Lb Bag of lite, is bigger than 4 Lb bag of regular) Now my question is, what is the fluff.

All of the multiple posts of Conan's eyes - showing "Dan" and now incredibly, his wife "Nancy" (!!! amazing!!!) got me looking at photographs on the web. And to my amazement, I think I found one with Mary's face on it! If you look real close you can see it....kind of, sort of, in the...

Advice wanted for handling new kitten by [email protected]
Hi, I got a kitten about 3 months ago. She is now 6 months old. I got another 8 week old kitten last weekend. They have very different personalities. The new kitten is extremely friendly - lets you pet her, she is generally pretty calm, and she will just sit on your lap and go to sleep.

Ping Dan!!! Conan Update!! by Mary
Dan, I just spoke with Katherine at the shelter and she says just come in and ask for her and you can take Conan. She will be there tomorrow, but she does not have to be there for you to do this. I have arranged for you to receive a PayPal for $200 for the adoption fee, your expenses, and...

Conan's Rescue by CatNipped
Just wanted to say a couple of things... First, Mary, thank you so much for caring enough to put up the $200 to cover Conan's adoption fee, Dan's travel expenses, leash and halter, and carry case. I think this *does* show "it's all about the cats" for you! To Dan, thank you so much for caring...
