Star - update - saw him by Susan M[_3_]
Hi the I went to the SPCA to visit with Star this afternoon. I didn't go on the weekend because I didn't want to chance having him out of his cage visiting while potentially serious adopters were around. When I got there, they said that a hold had been put on him last night because it was...

Melba update - anti cancer purrs? by Susan M[_3_]
Hi the I just spoke to my SIL about Melba and the ultrasound today showed an enlarged spleen and nodules on the pancreas that could indicate either pancreatitis or cancer of the pancreas. Pancreatitis is manageable but the cancer isn't. Tomorrow at 2 PM they are aspirating the pancreas...

Advice on Suki by Yowie
Shmogg and I had reached an understanding and knew where each other's boundaries lay. This is not to say that we didn't *test* these boundaries from time to time, but I had a voice and a water squirter to back it up, and he had a hiss and claws to back it up. Thus we could tell each other to...

Star - better pics and spoke to his new slave by Susan M[_3_]
Hi the After four consecutive days of visits with Star, he's really loosened up. Gone is the slink and in is the kitten-ish playful boy that lurked beneath. He *only* wanted to play for the whole hour this time. Shots start he http://pets.webshots.com/photo/2025111770026469358tCJdXS...

Apologizing by Baha via CatKB.com
I haven't been the best of correspondents, the best of mailers, not much the best of anything since my friend took a turn for the worse and passed this past weekend. I hope everyone else is OK here. Sending wishes for a better year for everyone because last year sucked. I'm sorry I've been slow...

They're here by Outsider
I have 2 scaredy cats here! I should have let them out in their room but I let them out in the living room so that is where they are hiding. I hope they find their own room; it is more private and I can put the litter box with them. Otherwise they seem fine; scared but very curious!...

[OT] Need Ideas for Charity Auction by Jeanne
Hi, I'm coming up completely blank on this one, perhaps some of you might be willing to suggest some ideas. A group I belong to is having a charity purse auction in a couple months. For our auction, each of our members is making up at least one "theme purse". This could be a purse of any kind,...

Pics of the Berlin gang on flickr by Bettina
Hey all, I was so angry about my old digicam the last weeks and months. Most of the pictures just were unsharp. Of course - it is an old 2MB camera. Last week I`ve had enough. So many nice situations to photograph and mostly I had to delete them for poor quality. So I ordered a new one with...

May I ask for some happy purrs? by Ginger-lyn
I have had no success finding Pinky's original people. A friend of mine has a friend who recently lost her kitty, and expressed the thought that she may be ready to adopt again. I don't know this woman, but my friend is very trustworthy (and an RN and massage therapist, not to mention a vet's...

CRF by yepp
No. 1 cause of death in elderly cats, why isn't there more work in this area and listed on cat foods? I've learned that this is the most common cause of death in cats. Isn't there a way to add an additive to commercial cat foods that helps with this? Since cats are carnivorous and eat mainly...

Roxy's cute new cuddly game by [email protected]
Roxy loves to get under the covers, but she doesn't usually stay there. She paws at the covers so I'll lift them for her, and she runs underneath, does some kind of very fast but inscrutable ritual in there, and then bolts right back out. But this morning, instead of bolting out, she stopped right...

Trying to catch a stray in the cold by Susan M[_3_]
Hi all: I first noticed this adolescent grey cat last night when my motion light went on in the backyard and I heard rustling in my recycle box of cans. I expected to see a raccoon but instead saw the rear end of a cat sticking out as it was licking the old cat food cans. Slim pickings...

Litter dust problem (long, but it does have a point) by Joy
I'm sick. I have some sort of respiratory bug, complete with fever and even an intestinal symptom. It has been raining here for several days, and the prediction is for at least one more day of heavy rain. When it rains, my back yard becomes a lake. When the water rises high enough, it runs...
