Something wrong with my dwarf hamster? by
Bunny
My dwarf hamster is acting kind of weird. The first week I got her she
was fine and slept in her bed. Then she constantly kept changing where
she slept. And now she doesn't even sleep in her bed. She just lays
somewhere or under her wheel. I give her a toilet roll so she can chew
but she doesn't do...

Flax for cats by
[email protected]
My vet suggested I give a quarter teaspoon of fiber (metamucil) each day to
my 11 year old neutered male cat with colitis. It seems to be working, but
I was wondering if freshly ground flaxseed might be better. It has lots of
fiber, but also all sorts of other great qualities (at least for...

Old boney cat by
acostigan
I have a wonderful old cat. He'll be 15 next February. He seems to be
thinning out getting very boney on his head, shoulders, backbone and hips.
He eats pretty well, and for the last 3 weeks I've been trying to plump him
back up so I've been feeding him canned food twice a day while still...

Calling the Vet first thing tomorrow. by
Psipsini
I'm calling the vet as soon as it opens tomorrow morning, but in the
mean time while I'm worried I'd love to hear your thoughts.
My 2 year old indoor female cat as a lump under her chin.
I noticed it late wednesday night, it was about the size of a pea but
not very hard and I felt a kind of a...

If this is answered in an FAQ (I couldn't find one), please let me know
where I can find the FAQs.
I have a Himalayan cat and live in the Sacramento Valley.
The cat likes to be outside 95% of the time and sleeps in the (unheated)
garage.

Can a vet give a second opinion on my cat's liver issues? by
Joshua McGee
Hi,
My cat has lost half her body weight. We thought she wasn't
tolerating her food any longer, and tried making changes at home for
too long before we went to the vet. She has undergone personality
changes, is lethargic and vomiting, and is dehydrated. I have a pdf
fax of her blood results,...

Sammy's Sick! by
CatNipped
I'm so sick about this - I can't stop kicking myself, I should have caught
this *SO* much sooner!
I saw that Sammy had thrown up a prodigious amount in the garage when I woke
up this morning. As has been said in other posts, Sammy has been living
under my bed for almost 5 weeks now. When I...

my oldest cat won't look at me by
David Mooney
Velvet is a 5 year old cat (she was my first cat) and she won't look at me
in the eyes. When I pet her, she averts her gaze and keeps her head turned
away from me. She has only begun this a few months ago Does anyone have any
ideas what the problem may be? She has always been a loving cat but...

Cat won't eat by
Gary Woods
Neutered male, 8 years old:
Eli ate very little according to pet sitter, while we were on vacation, now
losing weight (12#, down to 9#), and has eaten virtually nothing for a
couple of weeks.
Vet found nothing wrong; blood work normal, X-rays showed no tumors, no
blockages. The did tooth...

was back and purring when petted etc,,,now he just lies very still -
occasionally wanders somewhere in...

Outdoor enclosures? by

Good morning.
I would appreciate any resources that folks here can share regarding outdoor
cat enclosures. I am interested in manufactured enclosures, and especially
interested in plans or ideas for building one myself.
Thanks

Recently a coworker had one of her cats escape. Fortunately she came
back. This got me worried about mine.
They are indoor cats. I've previously tried to get them to wear collars
and have tried the all stretchy kind and the kind with an elastic strip
and they took them off. I even...

Questions About Dogs & Cats by
_G O D_
Sorry to bother you, but I couldn't find anything on the web.
1) Do male wolves, foxes, hyenas, coyotes, jackals, dingoes, and
African wild dogs lift their rear leg when taking a leak, or is this
practice limited to domesticated dogs?
2) Other than the domesticated house cat, do other cats try to...

Itch Remedy? by

Hi:
Tania and I have this daily routine. I sit in a certain chair, whistle
her tune, and she comes running into my lap. Where she gets brushed,
and groomed. I groom her by hand after the brushing, and do her entire
body, she loves it!
Last week, I noticed a very small hard spot on her left...
