Cat's tongue while drinking by
JMagerl
WHich way does a cat's tongue go while he is drinking?
When ever Mr. Bonkers finishes with a drink from his bowl, I notice that his
lower chin is wet when I would expect his upper lip would be wet if he
lapped like a human would. Does this mean his tongue bends backwards to
drink? I'm having a...

Lethal dose of morphine for a cat by
A.J. Rivett
When the time comes and I have to euthanize my cat, I would like to do
it in the kindest way. I think this would be a nice meal of tuna
juice and tuna with some morphine in the tuna juice.
I have been told that 5 mg of morphine should be enough and that my
cat would just fall asleep after eating...

Wierd black dots near mouth by
Angela St.Aubin
I just noticed something strange on one of my cats.
Along the top ridge of her mouth, on the outside, in the fur, but right next
to her "lips" there are dozens of tiny black specs.. they look almost like
blackheads.
Any ideas of what they are, or if anything needs to be done?

Cat reverse sneezing -- HELP! by
Paula Sims
Hello all,
Thank you all for the help you've given in the past and I am turing to
you again.
Our cat, Gypsy, is a 9 year old female Bombay cat that all of a sudden
started sneezing and doing a wretching/gagging thing that the vet
calls reverse sneezing. The vet did blood work (including...

Frontline Plus Dosages for Dogs and Cats by
Jeff Roughgarden
I did some research on eBay and on this group regarding whether you
can use the dog version of Frontline Plus on cats. I am not a vet, but
the messages on this group seem to indicate that they are
interchangeable. This is attractive because 12-month supplies (12
pipettes) on eBay all run about $85,...

The sad tale of Fluffy Skye by

Sometimes you think things are bad, it seems like there's always
somebody whose circumstances are worse. I have this poor little cat

And now, instead of finally having some good times in her life, she's
gonna die.
I added a new cat to our family last...

Dental cleaning - how often? by
---MIKE---
Amber had her first dental cleaning last October at age 9 (after losing
one of her fangs). I just got a "reminder" from the vet that she is due
again next month. Are yearly dentals really necessary? Amber HATES to
travel and the procedure is expensive. I would prefer to wait if it
isn't really...

Outside of the box by

Hi All
Instead of thinking outside of the box, my 8-year-old neutered male cat
Freddie has the habit of poohing outside of the box. For almost two years
now, he has been doing it. At first, I thought it was because I had gone
back to work (I had been unemployed for several months). He started by...

Strange eating habits by
---MIKE---
For years I have been using Melmac cereal bowls to feed the cats their
canned food. A few weeks ago I switched to small, flat dishes (also
Melmac) thinking that the sides of the bowl might "tickle" their
whiskers while eating. Tiger had the habit of taking a chunk of food
out of the bowl and...

Update: Kitten with seizures (PSS) by
KellyH
First the good news:
Ana has been doing very well since coming home from the emergency vet.
She's playful, energetic, eats, drinks, and eliminates fine.
Now the bad news:
They ran the bile acids test and her levels were very high. The shelter vet
believes she probably does have PSS. She ended up...
