A sad message from BlueBird by

I got this e-mail from BlueBird today.

I just came from the vet. I KNEW Little Bit was sick. Everyone said
not to bother because they were all things cats just do, but I've always
known when my animals are sick. Maybe because I just love them so much
and have had a...

Message from Stirling by
Helen Wheels
#WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Stirling just jumped up on the keyboard and inserted the above text in
the middle of some code I was working on. I figured it would be more
meaningful here.

Stirling shall not be moved. by
Helen Wheels
Today I'm going to re-cover our cat tree. My furry bunch scratched all
the carpet off the upright bit long ago, and the carpet on the
"branches" is looking pretty revolting these days. I managed to score
some free second hand carpet as they recently replaced the carpets in
the third house along...

I'm a bundle of nerves by
Helen Wheels
The two new furry boys I'm adopting are arriving tonight. I think we're
all prepared; I've figured out how to keep my existing 4 and the 2 new
fellows in separate parts of the house until they get used to each
other. I've never taken in 2 adults at the same time though - I can't
stop thinking about...

Orlie CANNOT possibly be comfortable by
Helen Wheels
The big ginger guy's crammed himself onto my lap, facing the computer
screen, with his head forced back so that his chin's on the keyboard's
wrist-rest. He's purring his little head off.

Aargh...how am I going to get him out? by
Helen Wheels
Tyler, my latest goofball addition to the furry family has got himself
stuck down behind my corner bookcase.
All of my cats have explored down there at one time or another. The
bookcase has shelves that extend along the two walls of the room, with a
section of shelves that sort of cuts across the...

the odd product out? by
Helen Wheels
I was looking for a keyboard drawer, but another product listed with the
"customers also purchased" section caught my eye at:

What the ???
(OK, it's just a mouse pad, but it made me look again!)

Stretching payback by
Helen Wheels
Orlie and Tyler are curled up together in front of the heater. Tyler
just had a good stretch, bracing his back paw against the base of poor
Orlie's tail to get better leverage. Not missing a beat, Orlie had a
stretch too, placing his front paw right smack in the middle of Tyler's
nose while he did...

Chickens by
Helen Wheels
There's a mother hen on my back verandah. There are several young ones
scratching aroung my backyard.
They're not my chickens. I hope they go home soon because I've got four
cats lined up with their noses pressed against the back window who all
fancy a chicken dinner.

OT question for scanner owners by
Helen Wheels
A question (well two really) for anyone who has a scanner - what's the
best way to clean the glass plate, and is there anything you can do to
prevent it from attracting every bit of loose dust, fluff and cat hair
in the house?
My brother just got a new scanner and kindly gave me his old one....

OT but pet-related by
Helen Wheels
My mother has a small victory to celebrate! I don't know how
things are elsewhere in the world, but here in Australia most
retirement villages still don't allow residents to keep pets.
This never made much sense to me, especially since we know these
days that having pets around can be so beneficial...

Simon could use some purrs by
Helen Wheels
Hi all
My ginger moggy Simon could use a few of your purrs at the
moment. He’s 20 years old and for the past year has been on
medication and having regular vet checks for chronic renal
failure. The medication has really helped improve his quality of
life up till now, and although he’s been...

OT Q for spectacle wearers by
Helen Wheels
Hi all
(If you're stuck for answers, RPCA will have some!)
I'm having a bit of trouble with my new pair of glasses. I
decided to retire my 1980-vintage frames which have rather large
squarish lenses, and get a pair of more "modern" frames which
have much smaller (geeky looking?) lenses. I've been...

we met again by
Helen Wheels
I caught up with Britta and Dennis here in Purrth on Sunday
morning. They picked me up from my house and met Arthur cat even
before they got to my front door. He was rather shy at first, but
then decided he quite liked the attention and spent quite a while
demanding attention from all three of us....

Vale Simon (RB) by
Helen Wheels
Sad news here. My brave, beautiful 21 year old ginger moggy Simon
lost his battle with chronic renal failure yesterday and went to
the bridge. My other 4 cats are visibly upset, and I'm
devastated. He'd become very frail and we all knew he would be
going soon, but that doesn't make it any...

Finally reading the group properly by
Helen Wheels
Well, I've finally got myself a nice DSL connection at home and am
learning to read the newsgroup in the proper way, i.e. with a cat curled
in my lap and another purring at my shoulder. It's much nicer than
grabbing a quick look at my desk at work during my lunch or tea break.

great kitty photoshopping by
Helen Wheels
Worth 1000 just had another kitty photoshop contest - see the entries at
http://www.worth1000.com/cache/contest/contestcache.asp?contest_id=7104&start=1&end=10&display=photoshop
But a warning - the page is pretty big if you're on a dialup connection.
