Anemic cat by deet
My vet has informed that my 8 year-old cat is anemic. Other than, keep up her usual diet, he said I could add chicken liver, which could help the anemia. Any suggestions on good foods for an anemic kitty. It can be people food--I already cook and chop chicken to add to her cat food. ...

How to stop cats killing? by Ellie Bentley
I know all cats have a deeply ingrained instinct to hunt. I don't mind that. It's just the constant killing that I would rather have them avoid. Birds, voles, mice, shrews, weasels, and rabbits: I find them all waiting for me on the kitchen floor. Any ideas on how to stop them actually killing?...

Greenies for cats by Muzzlet
I just received a sample of Greenies for cats. I've been hearing that some people have had problems with dogs getting intestinal obstructions from eating these treats because they supposedly do not break down inside the digestive tract if not properly chewed. Has anyone heard of the same problem...

Travel and cat psycology by jmc
Cat psycology question: If you're making major changes to your cat's life - say, putting her into a cattery/quarantine for two months because you're all moving to a new foreign country - how best to do it? One way would be to keep things as normal as possible, keep all her "stuff" until the last...

Question about IBD diagnosis by yngver
Hi, we have a cat about 5 years old (this is just a guess because we adopted her as a stray about three years ago and the vet thought she was maybe two at the time) who has had occasional soft stools. It never lasts more than a day (meaning she will have a soft stool, either runny or formed but...

Is it normal? by Bianca L
I have adopted a new kitten, Stevie. She is amazing. She came into the shelter with two other littermates. Steve was born with no eyeballs. Anyway I adopted her a couple weeks ago and I notice that she sleeps through the night. For the life of me I can't remember a kitten doing this. I have a 11...

Inappropriate Urination: dangit, louis by Brian Link
Our 5 year old Bengal has resumed his affection for peeing on our front door. We'd almost broken him of the habit, but in the last few weeks he's back at it. The vet gave him an "all-clear" for urinary or bladder issues. When he started this behavior, it was classic marking: back legs...

gingivitis question by [email protected]
I took my cat to the vet yesterday for his annual exam. Last year they told me his teeth were good but that he had gingivitis. His gums looked quite red. He had no other symptoms - ate his dry food without a problem and didn't seem to have any discomfort. I started brushing his teeth every few...

Is cat's behavior due to Spring? by Tracey
Help! I have two cats (one 9 yr old male, one 5 year old female). They have always gotten along fairly well, not the best of pals but they at least tolerated eachother. Last fall we moved to a new neighborhood. Our old neighborhood did not have many outside cats and our new one has about 5 or 6...

Best flea & tick control for outside cat by [email protected]
Hi all, A 12 year old tuxedo cat decided he wanted to live in our house last spring. He is an tough, wiley, intelligent, outside cat who controls the small wooded area behind my house. Because he roams through bushes and even climbs trees going after squirrels, I'm hesitent to put a flea collar...

News group falling apart by ---MIKE---
This was once a healthy news group with 1500 posts. Because of the off topic posts and flame wars and the fact that a few individuals have made it their personal chat club, many of the regular posters have left for other cat news groups. This group is down below 1000 posts and dropping steadily. ...
