Mixing an FIV+ cat with FIV- cats by
brad
Hi there,
I have three wonderful female kitties (ages 3,6,14) that I adore.
All three have been spayed and all are healthy and negative on
diseases. A few years ago I placed an FIV+, neutered, solid white
male with an older lady. A few weeks ago she passed away. The kitty
is now nine years...

phosphorous and kidney disease by
brad
Hi all,
My beloved 16 year old female cat was just diagnosed with CRF.
Luckily, we think we caught it pretty early. My vet thinks that my
feeding her Prescription C/D for the past 10 years contributed to the
kidney problems because C/D is too "acidic" for a long term food.
So I've switched...

specific gravity is 1.016. It was also revealed that she has high
blood pressure and is slightly anemic. And suddenly things have
gotten even more...

What celebrity is your cat most like...?? by

I may have snuck you guys past the sign in page but its pretty
painless if it won't let you take the test without signing in. Plus if
you look at the bottom of the page and click on "tests" you will find
hundreds of these psychological tests that are pretty amusing to take.
My cat came out to be a...

Location for litter box and type by
Brad
Trying to figure out the best spot to put the litter box. I live in an
apartment with a hallway going to the entrance/exit to the garage it
also widens out by the doorway and the washer and dryer sits there. I
read one post that said not to have it by a door that gets a lot of
use but this door...

How do they talk to us....... by
Brad
I just read a posting that said (out of context) her tail was drooping
like she was upset about something .........that brought me to
thinking about if there is any universally accepted body language or
vocal language that I should know about as a new owner in nine days
and counting......such as...

Nuetering by
Brad
I didn't do a search on this particular topic because I wanted the
most up to date information. I will be calling some professionals also
but I wanted to hear your comments on what age to fix a male kitten.
My breeder is willing to keep him (my Siberian kitten) and have him
nuetered for me but it...

soiling outside the litter box by
Brad Cook
I have a 2 YO fixed female calico that I got from the humane society a
couple of months ago. She has a strange habit of defecating just outside the
litter box on a mat that I put down to minimize the scattered litter. She
initially used the box for about a week and then started the new behavior....

chipped tooth by
Brad Stone
Hi there,
I have a 13 year old indoor male kitty who I adore. He's in great
health. But at a routine annual physical today, my vet (who I also
adore) noticed that the very tip of one of his canine (fang) teeth has
been chipped off. I'm guessing that only about a 16th of an inch is
missing. ...

Feral cat still afraid of my hands... by
Brad Stone
Hey there,
About 5 months ago I trapped a black, female kitty approximately two
years old. She was quite feral. I had been feeding her for many months
near my office and she never let me pet her. But every day she was
waiting for me to show up with food. Before she ate the food she'd make
sure...

My beloved FeLV+ kitty suddenly has Erythremic Myelosis! by
Brad Stone
Hi all,
I'm really torn up over my cat, Sali. Here is a little page I did for
her awhile back.
I rescued her when she was one years old...she is now four. She
tested positive for the Feline Leukemia Virus when I first found her,
but because she has been such a force of nature (strong...

My cat has Acute Myeloid Leukemia by
Brad Stone
Hi all,
Last week my cat's oncologist thought my four year old FeLV+ kitty, Sali, had suddenly developed "Erythremic Myelosis Leukemia" but now it has been confirmed as "Acute Myeloid Leukemia". Sadly, the prognosis is pretty grim - apparently there hasn't been much success in...

Cats and rubber mulch by
Brad Stone
Hi there,
I have 3 kitties at home and I recently built them an outdoor cat
enclosure (with a cat-door leading back inside my house). They love the
enclosure, but two of my cats eat the grass growing inside the enclosure
- which makes them sick later. So I'm thinking of getting rid of the
grass...

Hi there,
My beloved 17-to-19 year old male, "Tiger", was recently diagnosed
with cardiomyopathy (heart failure). He actually seems pretty fine to
me (eating, drinking, playing a little, etc.). I had no idea he even
had a heart problem but an X-ray taken for another reason happened to
show...

You asked:
Does anyone know how to stop this fruitcake? And if he/she can be
prosecuted for this?
I don't know, but I can tell you that the kind of online
harrassing some people in rpca and rph+b (which may be what
brought on this attack) is indeed against the law. It is
called "stalking."...

Hyperthyroid cat - kidney question by
[email protected]
Hi there,
I have a 12 year old hyperthyroid semi-feral female cat. She loves me, but she's very afraid of everyone else - so I'm trying to minimize the amount of vet trips for her. She weighs 6.5 pounds which is one pound underweight for her.
Her creatinine is normal (1.2), but she's drinking &...
