Kitty prayers for "Fred" please, and a question by
Singer709
My good friend's kitty "Fred" is quite ill and is scheduled for
urinary surgery tomorrow.
He suffered blockage and a catheterization didn't work. As we all
know, renal failure is a fairly common serious illness for our
kitties, and many go to the Rainbow Bridge as a result.
This surgery he's...

OT Migraine Purrs by
Karen Chuplis
I'm absolutely desparate. I am going on day 10 of a sinus/migraine/which led
to tension and back to migraine cycle. I am taking what seems like four
billion drugs that don't seem to be helping. I just took one I used to take
a long time ago and while you are supposed to take it at the onset of...

I won't be doing that again any time soon! [OT and long] by
jmcquown
Thanksgiving. Yeah. I'm thankful I'm back home. I'm thankful I'm not
being bitched at and lectured all day long.
I'm thankful I'm home where Persia loves me and snuggles with me and doesn't
tell me everything that is wrong with me. Or everything that is wrong with
everyone else in the family,...

*Phone Calls by
Kyla =^. .^=
First somebody called me and aked for 'kaYla..
I replied, there's no kaYla at this # and hung up on her.
You don't pronounce my name right, you don't get to talk to me.
Period!!
Then,
I keep getting these calls asking for my deceased (since 1991) MIL.
Some cretin just called and asked for her, and...

OT blabbering people (it's about Eric) by
Cheryl
I'm very sorry to bother you guys again with my personal life and
depression, but this isn't something I want/can talk to anyone here
(RL) about and I just need to dump it somewhere. My former ex-
brother in law called me today asking about Eric's guitars and he
wanted them for his son, Eric's...

OT I just didn't know by
Marina
Went to the pet store for some cat food. While I was waiting to pay, I
spotted a package hanging on the wall, Peered a little closer. It said
"Adjustable harness and lead for iguana". A pretty bright red harness,
wrapped around the picture of an iguana. I didn't know they made them.
Special for...

Can you name a cat DUKE? by
Bridget[_4_]
I don't know what my meezers name was before I got him, but the name
that keeps coming to me for him is "Duke". He is a large cat - very
long and very tall and probably weighs in at close to 13 pounds. His
whole stance is BIG and his attitude is surly although in reality, he
is a sweetie. He will...

[OT] Horrible Experience - Rabid Possum by
Pat[_3_]
While I was trying to go to sleep about an hour ago, I heard loud
noises in the carport. I went out with a flashlight and found a huge
possum, frothing at the mouth with a very hostile demeanor. Normally
possums in the carport do not act this way, they just sort of ignore
me or run off. Not this...

EUREKA!! I Did It!! by
Jeanne Hedge
Congratulations!
My grandmother quit as you have, cold turkey, and was rightly quite
proud of it. Afterward though, she said she wished she hadn't been
forced to quit (she quit after having a heart attack), not because she
missed smoking but because she thought people who quit because they
wanted...

The Kittens and the Soldiers by
Bev
I listened to the news when I woke up this morning. It seems that some
Aussie soldiers had been out on the tiles and when they got back to camp
they had some fun with a cat and her litter of kittens.
First they urinated on them and then took a kitten and tied it behind a
vehicle and dragged it...

Crackles has Cancer by
P. Cox
The results of Crackles biopsy has came back and he has cancer. He has
only one option which is a very expensive surgery on his ear and only if
it hasn't spread to his lungs. An xray would determine if its gone to
the lungs. The operation would have to be done by a specialist and I was
told would...

Purrs for a tiny abandoned kitten by
Debbie Wilson
If there are any nurturing purrs to spare, can you send some for a tiny
kitten who was found on the street yesterday by a friend's children who
live in Belgium? It's a little black & white baby, and was alone on the
street. She has been to the vet with the kitten and they think it is no
more than 2...

Skeeter RB by
Yoj
Skeeter has made the trip to the Rainbow Bridge.
For the past several days, she would eat only if I put a few pieces of
dry food in front of her. She still ate very little, and later she
threw up everything she had eaten. She was getting progressively
weaker. Last night, rather than spend the...

Whiskas Cat Food by
Scott Buchanan
My Indy ate Friskies cat food for most of his life. I believe that it is
the best out there but have no facts. On day we ran out of his regular food
and not wanting to go the distance to the regular store I went to the quick
store and chose Whiskas.
He likes to eat it and won't eat his usual food...

Sigh... yet one more new appliance by

So.... our dishwasher died. Kinda. It sprung a leak. Cheaper to get a
new one, so we did. Got a great deal through employee discount on a GE
discontinued model, about 40% off!!! We were able to get a fancy model
for the price of a cheapo one. Bad news, delivery folks won't install.
Called plumber,...

food dangers by
Sherry
One would think, correctly, that working in an ER would generally help one's
fending off various communicable viruses (I sail through every flu season
without succumbing to any resp. or flu-type) but am a sure target for what
is commonly known as "stomach flu" (usually *not* airborne-spread)....
