Rescue Remedy or something for agitated cat? by Kailey11
My 1 1/2 year old cat is very hyper and into everything all the time. He seems very frustrated with life in general. I had hoped he would start to settle down but hasn't. He is extremely destructive. Would rescue remedy or somehting like that help Kasey? Can I get it at Petco or PetsMart? Thanks!

Hi, all, I've been lurking here for a while, and now I desperately need some others' input. I have five cats total, four of them over 14. Cassie, the 17 year old, went off her food briefly and when I took her to the vet, we also realized that her breathing was very shallow, and she occasionally...

A little update on Taz by Chrissy
He seems to be getting mean as the night goes on, he's now growling & walking low to the ground. I've never been so scared. He's my pride & joy, and can't imagine life without him. I can't sleep, and thinking about him being in pain is making me ill. He is an indoor cat (someone asked in another...

fibrosarcoma on rear leg by Gail
The vet thinks my cat has a fribrosarcoma on her left rear leg. We will have a definite diagnosis on Monday. I am opting for no surgery due to her age (16 and 1/2) and the location of the tumor. Has anyone had a cat with this cancer who opted for no treatment and how long did the cat live...

Cat in heat? by .oO rach Oo.
My fiancé and I recently adopted two kittens... one aged 8 weeks (approx) and one age 7 months (approx). The 7 month old seems to be displaying signs of being in heat. They just had a check up and were in perfect health so it was the only reason we could think of as to her behaviour of sticking...

Tiggy's blood work by Wendy
Her blood work came back today. It's actually better than last spring. So the problem all seems to be the arthritis, the pain, and the fact that she's hardly moving around at all. She's getting constipated which could just be her old bowel not creating the enzymes she needs to digest the...

Cat and the holidays by Jeannie
I am going to stay with friends this Christmas and I don't know what to do with my cat. Do you think she would like it better if I took her with me (about 2 hours drive away) or should I leave her at home and ask my neighbour to feed her while I'm gone? I've never left home for any length of time...

sleeper hold for cats by Simon Fitzpatrick
You support the cat with a hand on its bottom while placing the right side of its neck on the other elbow. At that stage it is conscious , purring, and can't move. Or does this only work with my 2 cats? If so, why?

older cat getting litter box trained. by Stephen
I finally convinced my parents that it would be advisable to make our family cat an "inside cat" as they live in an area that has lots of dogs and even a couple of cayotes. BUT, I cannot get this 6 year old cat to use the little box. When I train a kitten to use the box, I know to just put in some...

Dog, 6 months chronic vomiting after injury by darrell graham
I am hoping someone out there has an idea that can help my poor dog. Six months ago, she got out of the yard and was hit by a car. Her hip was shattered in three places. It took us a day to realize what had happened and the seriousness of her injury. It was Sunday and she had a cut on her foot and...

Thyroid Problems/Tapozole by [email protected]
My 15 year old male tabby has been taking 10 mg Tapozole a day for about 14 months for his thryoid. Over the past few weeks he has begun to lose weight again and eating little. Today the vet told me to increase the Tapozole dose to 15 mg a day. He said the one problem with Tapozole is the dose...

About to adopt a shelter Manx by Meghan
Hi All, I have put in an application to adopt a 1 year old shelter kitty - who happens to be Manx. He has no tail whatsoever, not even a stump. I had no intentions of getting anything other than just a cat from a shelter. I have done a bit of research on this breed and am concerned. While I...

Petromalt/Vaseline by Jerold Pearson
Many people in this group have said that Vaseline can be used instead of Petromalt for hairball control. I have two questions: Is it really safe to feel regular Vaseline petroleum jelly to cats? Will they really eat it? (I know that will vary from cat to cat, but do most cats actually eat...
