"Duma": a must-see for all cat lovers by [email protected]
Just saw a wonderful, adorable, charming, really terrific movie. "Duma", about a South African boy who adopts an orphaned cheetah cub. The cheetah grows up with the family and becomes their pet. They live on a farm, so he's outdoors most of the time, but really, he's more domesticated than my cats....

top or bottom post by ann791
I don't care if any one post on the top or bottom. I think the confusion can be if you top post and it has no space between the new post and what was said before. Maybe leaving a space at the bottom of the new post to seperate it from what was said before would help. Ann -- read Sam's blog at...

Purrs for those who need them... :o) by Helen Miles
I have 2 cats (Cleo and Lily) meatloafing on my desk. They would both like everyone to know that they are currently purring and meatloafing for anyone who needs it. Me, OTOH, could do with them meatloafing somewhere else. I'm trying to do paperwork, and they've both decided that the exact pile of...

My Fight With a Friend Last Night [Not OT] by CatNipped
I may have ended a 45 year friendship last night. I'm talking about a woman who has been my best friend since the 5th grade - we've been through *everything* together. She lives in Mandeville, LA now, and I live in Houston, TX, but until I moved to Houston in 1991 we were inseparable. I always...

The Mighty Mouser Roadcat by Dan M
This morning we got up at an ungodly early hour to deliver to a couple Costco stores. Once we finished we got assigned a load that picked up in Aurora, CO and delivers in Salt Lake City - on Monday. We picked up the new load, went to the truck stop in Aurora for fuel, and since it was a nice day...

Some Purrs for Pan, Please by Shiral
Hi all, Well, I took Pan to the Vet yesterday for what I thought would be a basic bloodtest to check his medication levels. The vet came out of the back shortly after and said he had Pan on subcutaneous fluid as he was dehydrated, but also said he feared Pan's kidneys are failing. More is...

Please could my dad have some purrs? by Helen Miles
Please could my dad have some purrs today? He will be having a particularly ****ty day at work, as he has been tasked by his superiors to undertake a particularly distasteful task that he feels very, very badly about, but has no choice in undertaking it. Obviously I can't go into details, but it...

Story of Tabby cat's M on forehead by lal
Found these 3 different versions of why tabby cats have an M on their forehead. Of course, the last is my favorite. :-} lal ------------------ And so it came to pass that a husband and wife journeyed to a small town called Bethlehem, as the king had decreed that all the people stand to be counted...

Kitten Farts... by Helen Miles
Lily got into my thai stir fry this evening. I put it down on the table whilst I went and got a beer from the kitchen, and came back to find her getting well and truly stuck in. My GOD!!! I *NEVER* knew that Thai spices could make a kittens backside so TOXIC. Infact, toxic doesn't even cover it....

Digger by CatNipped
Digger is still favoring his left paw, so I made an appointment for him to see the vet at 11:30AM CST today. Purrs for the puppy would be greatly appreciated. I'll let you know what the vet said when we get back. -- Hugs, CatNipped

Licky: stoned before the fact by [email protected]
All my cats love catnip, but Licky is the big niphead in this house. Whenever I open the drawer where I keep it (which, amazingly, has other things in it besides catnip), he comes running from wherever he is, mewing for his drug of choice. Lately, with the weather being cold (so my plant isn't...

eating spurts by yepp
do your cats go through eating spurts? Mine would not eat canned food for weeks and then all of a sudden they can't get enough of it. They scarf down the entire bowl within hours. They are 10 years old and I still don't have them figured out.

Eli Update by Pat
He's still sniffling and sneezing, but he is eating and his mouth is mostly closed. He slept right next to me all night. Now he is in front of a window absorbing sunlight. Thanks to all who've been purring for him to feel better. I think he's getting over it. Will know more in a day or two.
