New Cat Mom Needs Help! by [email protected]
Hello! I am a new cat mom with some worries. I am having a hard time leaving my cat Rudy (1.5 year old Tabby) at home while I am gone even an hour. I think part of it is I am worried he will get into something and get hurt or be lonely and decide to be overly snoopy. This is my first cat ever and...

Today is Duffy's 6th annifursary by MaryL
Today is the 6th annifursary of the day I adopted Duffy. He was estimated to be 3-5 years old at the time, and we suspected it was toward the upper end. So, he is probably about 10 or 11 years old now. I rather artificially set Feb. 1 as his birthday because he was adopted on Jan. 31, and...

Food allergy to prescription food - need advice by Jo
I have an unfortunate problem. My 11 y/o cat seems to have developed a food allergy. He's been scratching his face and head for over eight months. He was on Hill's Prescription x/d dry food for five years for CaOx stones. (He has never, ever, like canned food and has always been picky about food....

Helpful product for vet visits and travelling by [email protected]
Hi to all, I'm Daniel and I have a 9 year old Tabby cat called Tigger. One of my equally cat-loving friends sent me this link a while ago: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=EUys0W7yawM I'm not sure if anyone else has had this problem, but as Tigger is a rescue cat, I have a lot of problems trying to...

Hobbes Doing Well by LauraM[_2_]
Just thought i'd give everyone an update on Hobbes. It's been about ten days since his pancreatic attack. Until a couple days ago, I thought I was going to lose him. He looked terrible. He also has some constipation issues which he's been dealing with for awhile. I'm sure he has IBD even...

FIP by Poe
Hello. I am new here, referred from another group. I had a kitten come thru my place who died of FIP. I have 3 other cats who are young, in the susceptible age group of under 3 years. I'd never heard of FIP before this episode, wish I didn't take this kitten home to begin with (found her in the...

Cats making friends of other species. by [email protected]
How does it work? I saw this: http://amazing.110mb.com/imgpages/image284.html If you want a cat and a dog, or cat and some other animal to absolutely get along, do you need to get them both at a early age for that?

Need info on stress scratching by MJ
When a cat scratches himself because of stress, are there usually certain parts of the body he scratches or licks? Could the scratching be limited to just the face and head? The vet said that cats that scratch themselves because of stress usually scratch and lick more than one place on their body....

Is yours right or left handed? by James
I think my pussy is a southpaw. Seems she always use her left paw when ever she reaches for me. I'm going to start noting if she curls up to the right or to the left and which side she rolls on the ground when she want to play.

Reminder: Please go to Animal Rescue Site to provide free food for animals by MaryL
I received a reminder in email today to go to the Animal Rescue Site and click on the purple box to provide free food for animals. I have checked this out on snopes.com. Most of these messages that claim to donate money or supplies are hoaxes, but this one is legitimate. Sponsors view this as...

Hobbes Not Eating! by LauraM[_2_]
I can't believe this. Hobbes is not eating now. I'm sure it's due to the antibiotics. Yesterday the vet changed him from Clavamox to Baytril in hopes of the change helping Hobbes to eat. He also is being given Nutri-Cal. This morning, however, Hobbes threw up everything he ate this morning. ...

Licking plastic by [email protected]
Our tuxedo cat, Oreo, seems to be addicted to licking plastic, in particular, polyethelene used in plastic bags and packaging. Why? What does she get out of it? Is this dangerous to her health?? Just wanna know... Jerry

How do others do it No Kill Shelter money, time, also aging cats? by Bill Bligh
My friend, let's call her J, is 65, retired, working part time to meet and talk with people. She does all the feeding, litter, medication and trips to vet and breaking up disputes. She has no time for herself. She won't trust others whose help she "rewards" to medicate these cats, some of whom...
