Selective pet feeder recommendations by
Arthur Rubin
Please suggest other groups this should be submitted to.... It's been a long time since I've accessed Usenet or Google groups.
I'm looking for a feeder which only one cat can use; I have three cats here, and one of them can be free-fed. Others should be on a restricted diet.
I tried the...

Cruel Vet by
S S
Last week Monday I took my cat to the Vet because his stomach was
bloated (before I had thought it was weight gain). It was a 10:00am
appointment, and we got there 9:55am. There was no one in the waiting
room, and it seemed there was no patients there except us.
11:20am the Vet finally came in, he...

"Outdoorsy" cat suddenly scared of EVERYTHING...???!!! by
Ron M.
We adopted Skeeter, a really sweet 2 year old orange tabby, a neutered
male, about 6 months ago. He's a really sweet cat, very passive, loves
to be petted. The idiots who owned him previously declawed him,
unfortunately.
Skeeter has always SCREAMED to go outside, so about 3 months ago, we
started...

Hmmmm… I have come to doubt this individual’s understanding of what a “Feral” cat actually is. There are, typically four types of cats seen in outdoor settings, broad brush:
a) Housecats that are allowed outdoors – common enough. In some areas, outdoor access is a requirement to...

Surprisingly Aggressive Behavior by Older Kitten Towards New Kitten by
Jonny R
We currently have a 6 month old ragdoll cat (Hummy - male) who's been
with us for 3 months now. On Monday we brought back home a 3 month
old ragdoll cat (Normy - male) that we purchased from the same
breeder. We were expecting for things to go fairly smoothly given
that:
*Hummy is only 6 months...

my oldest cat won't look at me by
David Mooney
Velvet is a 5 year old cat (she was my first cat) and she won't look at me
in the eyes. When I pet her, she averts her gaze and keeps her head turned
away from me. She has only begun this a few months ago Does anyone have any
ideas what the problem may be? She has always been a loving cat but...

Scottish Fold kitten seems lonely or in heat! by
[email protected]
Well yesterday (6/24/07) I met up with a breeder and got a 12 week
female Scottish Fold. We're keeping her in our bedroom (which is
plenty cozy, has everything she needs), but she doesn't want to leave
under the bed unless she has to. When she's under there all she does
is meow and meow and meow;...

Do cats get hot spots? by
Corey Kaye
Juliet is a 9 year old DLH. She was diagnosed with IBD several years
ago and was on z/d for years. Right now she's on Innova cat food, and
has not had any digestive problems. She's an indoor kitty that doesn't
go outside ever. I have several other cats that are also all indoor-only.
Today I...

decapitated squirrel by

This happened today and it upset me and my son who was visiting. The
cat was outside. We went out and found a headless squirrel in the
garden. I do have a peculiar neighbor but he has never done anything
his weird. I really dont believe my small cat caught a squirel by the
head, bit the head...

Prozac instead of Elavil, more frustrations by
Janet B
Carey has been on Prozac since last Wednesday (Baytril too, as a "what
the hell"). Switched from Elavil for inappropriate urination (Elavil
had worked at 1/2 pill from August-March, and she's been on a whole
pill from April-last week with minor improvement, but the ACL thing
and blood in her...

Removing caked-on clumping litter from paws? by
Robotech_Master
My geriatric kitty sometimes steps *in* her used litter instead of
kicking dirt on it. And a good bit of it is clumped between her paw
pads, but I can't really get it out of there without my cat yowling a
lot as her hair gets pulled.
Is there any good way of doing this?
Also, on an unrelated...

Cat ****s on floor! Help! by
Dally
Male cat born 1/10/04 (so he's five months old now.) I got him about 6
weeks ago from a shelter. He had been an indoor cat and had lived with
his mother and siblings.
From the very first day he would go into one particular corner of our
downstairs powderroom and **** on the floor. With two...

Sudden loss of mobility in front legs by
turner.nigel
Hi,
My cat had a sudden loss of mobility in both front paws.
Our Vet says it is not a clot as she still has partial use of both paws
and pulls away when you pinch her toes.
She seems to have problems moving her legs toward her head. They seem
to want to go towards her hind legs which makes her...

Are Bengal cats really hypoallergenic? by
Lalee
Hello,
I have read from different sources than Bengal cats were hypoallergenic
and from others that they were not!
I was thinking about getting one as a gift to my boyfriend for our
6th anniversary but he is allergic to cats and dogs!!
Would it be a good idea to get him one?

Picky cat: Friskies or Whiskas? by
Newbie
My cat simply refuses to eat any of the nutritious premium foods I have
bought after much research! First I thought she simply doesn't like
paste and prefers chunks in gravy texture. However, that turned out to
be only half true. What she likes are chunk/gravy cans from cheaper
brands like Friskies...

A 40 pound box of Tidy Cats litter with free shipping for $11 (US).
They have got to be kidding.
It's been unbelievably low before, but that's just ridiculous. There is no
way on Earth they can make a profit. So what are they doing?

Adopted stray cat problems (continued) by
Calvin Rice
This is an update on the stray cat saga told here over a month ago.
I've been living with three cats who are free to go in and out of the
house at will, for nearly three years now. The older two were once
confined, but the youngest one, nearly age two, has never been
confined.
To recap, a stray...
