Urinary problems - advice? by jmc[_2_]
Meep continues to not pee. It sounds like urinary retention, which in humans is a side effect of Tramadol, but the way I understand it is with urinary retention you *want* to pee, but cannot. Meep doesn't seem to have the urge, even though she'll crouch if her full bladder is gently palpated. ...

Poor Meep... by jmc[_2_]
Well, we returned from vacation, and I feel horrible. Remember when I asked about whether to bring her with us or leave her at at the boarding facility, and I decided to board her? Apparently a bad decision, despite the fact this is an excellent facility and they did everything right. I have...

'Temptations' anti-hairball snacks? by KenK
Anyone tried the Whiska's 'Temptations' hairball control cat snacks? I've unsuccessfully tried everything else I'm aware of or heard about here (anti-hairball food I've tried gives her diarrhea). BM problems? Other problems? I'm going to try Google later this morning. TIA --

How can I help her tonight? Cat with viral upper respiratory infection. by Rene
You can warm her food when you feed her, since her sense of smell is diminished right now. You can also turn on your shower to super hot and close the bathroom door to create a steamy room. Let her stay in there and breathe in the moist air (only do this if she doesn't have allergies or asthma, or...

Retraining Cat Who Urinates Inappropriately by Jean B.
Hi All, I read accumulated posts but haven't had much to say. Soon I will be moving to another house after over 8 months of renovations. Ming still has his bad habit of peeing around the house. Needless to say, I would like him not to desecrate the new house in such a fashion. I figure the...

love bites? by Grawun
Sometimes when I am hugging and petting my cat she gives me a very soft little bite. Since it is so gentle and she does it when I am giving her loves I think it must be a love bite. Does your cat do that?

Is there any way to keep off topic messages out of this newsgroup? I hate wading through sales pitches and inappropriate posting to read about cats.

vaccine reaction with vomiting and bloody diarrhea by Nadia N.
Please anyone who has experience with this, I need help, or at least reassurance. I took Sweety - 2.5 year old ragdoll - to the vet today for her yearly vaccination. She got something called Nobivac Tricat (for feline herpesvirus, feline calicivirus and feline panleucopenia). 3 hours later she...

Urinary issues by jmc[_2_]
Poor Meep. We had to go to the emergency vet once again, as not only had she not peed for two days (one day hasn't been unusual for her and the vet is aware), but she was starting to look really uncomfortable. She was exhibiting none of her usual cystitis symptoms, in fact hadn't even been to...

old cat by Peter Elem
I have a male cat that is loosing weight and seems to be dying. He is probably around 15 years old but can't be sure. He's clingy and mellow but doesn't seem to be in any pain. Also he is completely mobile......I'm wondering if I should see a vet and what other end-of-life measures I should...

What to do? Board or take with us? by jmc[_2_]
We are going on "vacation" for a little over two weeks soon. I have to figure out what is best to do for Meep, who is 14, and currently on an apparently vile pain medication that must be given by mouth twice a day. It is stressing her a bit for me to give it to her, but as it is helping her...
