Amber is not too bright by ---MIKE---
With yesterday's heat the main part of my house was about 90°F but the bedroom (in the foundation) was 70°. When I went to bed, Tiger came downstairs but Amber stayed upstairs. Not too bright!!! ---MIKE--- In the White Mountains of New Hampshire (44° 15' N - Elevation...

It has come to my attention by ---MIKE---
I would think that if you kept a litter box in the bath tub, he would use it. ---MIKE--- In the White Mountains of New Hampshire (44 15' N - Elevation 1580')

OT Venus transit today by ---MIKE---
For those with clear skies (not here) you can observe the planet Venus cross in front of the sun this afternoon. It starts a little after 6 PM eastern time. This won't happen again for 105 years. Be sure to have eye protection such as welder's goggles. ---MIKE--- In the White Mountains of New...

Tiger has a rough week by ---MIKE---
It started last Sunday with repeated vomiting. He moaned like he had a tummy ache and he wouldn't eat. He would stand in the litter box and try to poop without success (he peed ok). I couldn't get in to the vet until Wednesday. He had a fever so got an antibiotic shot. They gave me a supply of...

Does Tiger have a problem??? by ---MIKE---
Since July 1st when Tiger Recovered from his infection things have changed. Previously, he presented with large, smelly poops. Now, he poops very little but does pee a lot. He used to eat quite a bit of dry food (Innova) as treats but now eats mostly canned food. He does eat plenty and acts...

Tiger is Tiger again! by ---MIKE---
He seems to be back to his normal self. This afternoon he got on my lap three times for lovins. The vet wants me to continue the Clavamox twice a day for four more days. This is not a problem since he loves the tuna juice (and the tuna). ---MIKE--- In the White Mountains of New Hampshire...

THAT must have hurt!!! by ---MIKE---
Tiger has been much better this past week except he would frequently stand in the litter box and "try" but not produce. He has been pooping soft clumps (antibiotic) and peeing. Yesterday I saw two spots of blood on the carpet near one of the litter boxes. In the box were two solid poops about...

Tiger - a big love bug by ---MIKE---
This morning, before I got up, Tiger jumped up on the bed and settled down next to my pillow. I moved my head closer and he started licking my head. I didn't move - I thought I would wait and see how long he would do this. He continued for a good ten minutes. That is one...

A Maine Coon pillow. by ---MIKE---
Tiger doesn't usually sleep on my bed. Last night he jumped on the bed in the middle of the night. He walked around for a few minutes before he settled down next to my pillow. I shifted over and laid my head on him as a pillow. He didn't object and I stayed that way for a while. He is more...

OT BEAR by ---MIKE---
Last night (about 7:30) a black bear took down my bird feeder. This is about one month earlier than last year. Now I am waiting for the hummingbirds. ---MIKE--- In the White Mountains of New Hampshire (44 15' N - Elevation 1580')

Tiger has been poorly by ---MIKE---
It started with very soft (and smelly) stools. Then a hairball (rare for Tiger). Then he didn't want his breakfast (also rare). Of course when he doesn't eat, Amber won't either. As soon as he would eat I added some acidolphoulis powder to his food. Meanwhile his soft stools have been...

OT Pet TV peeves by ---MIKE---
I watch too much TV - partly because Tiger likes to sleep on my lap. Here are some of my pet peeves: Ads that end with CALL NOW. Products that are "clinically proven" to work. Newscasters that say "stay with us". Brian Williams (NBC anchor) saying "thanks AS ALWAYS".

Tiger's voice by ---MIKE---
Normally when Tiger meows it is almost silent. I know he can make a sound when he wants to. Last week during several vet trips (for antibiotic shots) he spoke up loud and clear. ---MIKE--- In the White Mountains of New Hampshire (44° 15' N - Elevation 1580')

Happy birthday Amber by ---MIKE---
Today is Amber's 15th birthday. I'd make her a cake but she wouldn't eat it. She IS eating her canned food but she "snacks" on it. She won't eat a lot at a time so her meals take over an hour. She seems to be walking better. ---MIKE--- In the White Mountains of New...

Food supplements by ---MIKE---
I add Cosequin to the canned food twice daily. After several months, Amber seems to be walking better. I also give Tiger six pieces of Friskies Dental Diet at bedtime (Amber doesn't usually want any). At the last vet visit they said his teeth looked good. These things seem to work! ...

Mild stroke by ---MIKE---
Last week I suffered a mild stroke. My speech was slightly slurred and I had trouble writing with my right hand. I called 911 and was transported to the hospital where I had a cat scan, MRI and ultrasound of my neck arteries. I was admitted for two days and then released with three...
