Thanks for the Christmas and holiday cards by MaryL
I am no longer on the Catslaves holiday card list, but I received a number of Christmas and holiday cards. Holly and Duffy were included on several of them. Thanks, everyone! I really enjoyed them. MaryL (with Holly & Duffy)

At last, a word for what Shamrock does by [email protected]
Here are some funny pictures of cats and dogs "photobombing" each other. Shamrock would fit right in! http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/25-pictures-of-cats-and-dogs-photobombing-each-oth Joyce -- If an animal does something, they call it instinct. If we do exactly the same thing for the same...

Abelard needs help by Pat[_3_]
He had a seizure. I could feel it was coming. It was similar to the one in May '08 but shorter. He peed involuntarily, his legs went stiff, and he cried out several times. He's resting comfortably now. I am about to leave with him for the all-night vet emergency in Springfield, where he will likely...

I met a Frankie look-alike by Marina
We spent Yule Eve at my sister's and niece's house for our big Yule feast. You may remember I posted a pc of my niece's foster kittens. Unfortunately, one of them was so ill that she had to be put to sleep this week, but the other one was still there. She's a tiny little baby, pretty feral...

Update on our patient by BfloPolska
The cat that had been given up for dead has become a lively he-beast as he recuperates from his brush with diabetic coma. Hudley is still being sequestered, largely because he is terrified of our six, especially Roxie who has been having impolite words with him. We have been allowing short...

Strange eating habits by ---MIKE---
Last evening both Amber and Tiger didn't seem interested in their food. They eventually ate some but I had to throw some away. This morning they both scarfed up the food and I had to open a second can which is mostly gone. This was a different batch of Wellness chicken but I don't know if this...

My kitten refuge by Mark Edwards
It's cold. It's wet. Not the sort of weather a certain feral calico kitten likes. Tonight, Apache meowed at the door to be let in. She allowed me to dry her off, and huddled against me for awhile. She even showed me her tummy. After about half an hour, she wanted back out. Another hour passes,...

Christmas Cards by Lucys Mom[_2_]
....are in work. I don't think they'll make it for the holiday and, for that, I'm very sorry. My only excuse is that it's been one h#l# of a couple of months for us and we're just now starting to recover. I had a breast cancer scare (I'm ok), my mom died, and as soon as we got back, I got an...

Cat tooth-brushing fail by [email protected]
I have to admit that I've never tried to brush my cats' teeth before. There, I said it. I just didn't think it was going to go over very well. I can't even imagine what would happen if I tried to brush Licky's teeth - he'd probably stay under the bed for a month. Anyway, I brought Roxy to the vet...

Abelard is home!!! by Pat[_3_]
We got back around 4 pm. Abelard was actually released this morning when we dropped off the other kitties for their dentals, and he rode around with us all day, enjoying the car and being free of the hospital at last. He seems to be doing well. I wasn't so sure earlier today, he was kind of...

Help needed pilling cat!!! by Kraut / Larry Stark
This is about my 18 / 19 year old tortie Kitty who was recently found to have thyroid problems and needs meds for a couple weeks then a recheck. The pills are real small and cut in half. She only weighs like 6 pounds and has always been small. I call her my feral housecat. I used to be able to...

Question about baby food for a cat by Pat[_3_]
I've read that it's not good to feed baby food to a cat because it lacks taurine. I've also read that all meat naturally contains taurine. I've got lots of jars of all-meat baby foods on hand and sometimes use them when a cat can't or won't eat regular cat food (after dental extractions, etc.)....

Introducing... by JeanneHajos
our new furkid. We decided it was time for an addition to our household. A home is mighty empty without a kitty-cat. So, off to the pound as I wanted to adopt a cat on "death's row" regardless of age, gender, or whatever. An illness was running through the pound so they were not adopting...

Getting a BIG Christmas wish..... by Gandalf[_2_]
My older brother, Dan, was diagnosed with liver cancer in July :( By the time they made the diagnosis, it was too late for chemo or radiation. They gave him 3 to 6 months. But, it's been 6 months, and he's doing quite well. He went to a clinic in California, and is eating only organic food, and

An old Christmas cat story.... by Gandalf[_2_]
I've read this before, but not for several years: "When the baby Jesus was lying in the manger he started to shiver with the cold. Mary covered the baby with blankets but still he kept shivering. Mary then ask all the animals to move closer to the manger so that their body heat would warm...

Outcome of dentals by Pat[_3_]
Tommy didn't get done because it turned out he's got an infection, so he'll have to go back in a few weeks. Everyone else got a cleaning, no extractions were needed. All three were fully awake and alert @ 2:30 when we picked them up. Lily was crying in her carrier, so I put Billy in with her and...

More dental purrs, please! by Pat[_3_]
Billy, Lily, Baby Eyes and Tommy are getting their teeth worked on in the morning. And next Tuesday we'll be taking Beatrice, Buzzy, Annabelle and Coco in for theirs. Yeah, Coco is quite young, but I looked at her little teeth (as best I could) and I think she could use a cleaning. Eli won't need...

Poor Boyfriend by Christina Websell
He must have slipped outside when I fetched some wood in last night, and when I went to bed I was confident that he was asleep in his bed under the kitchen table near the gas fire. I wondered why he was not outside my bedroom door this morning when I woke up - and even more worried when he...
