Litter Box Issues by
Peanut
My neutered male 14 year old cat urinates in the litter box, but doesn't squat like most cats. Instead he stands and pees up against the wall of the litter box, which is frustrating because it leaks out the seam of the box where the top and bottom meet.
Any ideas? Can't seem to find a litter box...

Question On An Older Cat's Odd Behavior by
Neil Sullivan
Hello,
We have two 1 year-old cats and an older stray we took in. The older cat is
a very gentle fellow. The vet tells us he might be as old as 12.
About all he wants to do is sniff around outside for a bit and then come in
and sit on the nearest lap. He doesn't play much with the young cats,...

jesseH
Our cat is not going to make it.
What are the options that vet will give me to put her to sleep?
What options for body disposal with vet ( I dont want to bring her home to
bury in back yard)
Can you give me some kind of idea of cost for the vet?
thank you

vets take advantage of grief by
jesseH
In two cases, 4 months apart, two different vets: both estimated or said
about $400 to examine, perform blood work, x-rays and to keep cat until
morning.
When cat was picked up, both vest presented bills for $1200. The 1st one
gave in little and was vary arrogant with weak justification, the 2nd...

Do your cats have nicknames? by
Sandy
I usually call my cats something other than their actual name, and I was
wondering if anyone else does the same. My female cats usually end up being
called "Sweetie", although one was occasionally called "The Great and
Powerful Jennifer" -- as in, "I don't care if you ARE the Great and...

How affectionate is your cat? by
Ablang
How affectionate is your cat? Please give examples.
Mine will be 2 next month (have had her since August). Mine used to be a
little bit. She used to wanna sit on my lap during TV time and sleep with
me (both during winter time of Dec-Jan). It's been a few weeks now since
she's done either very...

Walmart has $30 cat tree by
Ablang
It's one of those things that you put together, like a base, 4 posts
and 4 platforms and it reaches the ceiling. The posts appear to be made of
real thick cardboard (think toilet paper when the TP is all gone).
I was wondering if anyone owned one of these or if anyone thought
this seemed like a...

Re-covering a scratching post? by
queenbee
Hi, does anyone have any advice on re-covering a scratching post? My cats
(2) have a nice post that they adore. It's got an upright post covered in
carpet, a slanted post covered in sisal, and a curved part on top they can
lie in. I don't want to get them another post because a.) these posts are

two cats is better? by
trents32
We are considering getting a cat.
Will a cat be happier with companionship of 2nd cat.
Is there an issue getting two cats?
Does it matter if they both male or female or a mix when both are nuetered
and spayed?
We lost our cat and to have enough cats for everyone in family to share I
thought 2 cats...

Little Gifts! Little Help Needed! by
David Wright
Hello,
Just wondered if anyone could share some advice on how to stop our two cats
bringing home little "gifts" for us during the night.
Both cats (1 male, 1 female) are just under 2 years old. They have never
brought anything back before, but since our first baby was born and became
the centre...

signs of pregnancy by
Just Me
I was just wondering what the signs are that a cat is pregnant and when
those signs appear.
I know that their nipples appear more obvious at some point but at what
point is that most likely?
When do they usually appear rounder? I'm sure this depends on the number of
kittens but is there an...

Kitty skirmishes by
Bobcat
At our place, four-year-old Emily chases and sometimes scratches newcomer
Sophie, probably out of jealousy at no longer being the centre of the
household universe. If we're nearby we use the spritz bottle to let her know
it's not acceptable behaviour and she dashes off, a little damp but...

Relocating cat by
ephemeral
I need to ship my cat from Seattle to WA DC. I'm having problems
finding any but the barest information on how to make this as
comfortable as possible for the cat. Can anyone provide tips or point
me to a website/newsgroup that might help.
TIA

TWO cats in heat! by
Lisa
Oh my god, I thought it was bad enough having one of them in heat. I wrote
about it last week, asking how long it lasts, and was hoping that it would
be over by now. But now her sister has started so we have TWO screaming,
clawing, desperate-to-escape cats! And their appointment to be spayed,...

Indoor cat figured out doggie door by
Tom Meter
Hi. My wife has lost two cats in the last few years that just ran away and
never returned. So she is really concerned that our current indoor cat
Brittney will flee now that she has gone out the doggie door a couple of
times. We are currently locking the doggie door while she has full reign of
the...
