I wouldn't count on it doing much actual grooming. I know mine wold like
chewing on it however.

I have one & my cats use it - always has some hair in its bristles. OTOH,
my cats only rub along it from the outside - they don't walk under the arch.

I screwed a natural bristle scrub brush onto the vertical low side of my desk
and my cat likes to brush on that, but not enough to be called good grooming.He
used to rub on my desk anyway so I thought I'd put that there for him. He likes
to rub his face on it.
