Sqweex, Rainbow Bridge, January 13
 

It is with great sorrow that I have to tell
you that our 12 year old beautiful
long haired tortoiseshell cat
Sqweex went to Rainbow Bridge,
this morning or last night.
She slept beside me for awhile last night, & purred me to sleep.
This morning about 7 am PST
I found her in the room where she had her last meal.
She didn't seem sick at all. .
The other 3 cats came running into the bedroom yowling, and when I went into
the laundry room
Sqweex was laying on the floor. lifeless.
I am in tears as I write this.
Sqweex had the loudest purr and was such a sweet kitty.
So soft, so loving.
I called her my pretty girl and my beautiful girl.
On Facebook that's her picture, where mine is.
She was such a sweetheart. Her 10 year old daughter Pipps
is wandering around looking for her Momcat.
They were inseparable.
Dutch will take Sqweex to be cremated today.
Our hearts are broken,

THE CAT BED IN THE SKY

I thought that you might like to know I got here safe and sound
Though you must feel rather strange not having me around;
Of course, I am not really gone, I've just moved out of sight,
And I don't need that old body, things had stopped working right.
Sometimes I'm sorely tempted, to pop back down and see,
Just how you are managing, without any help from me,
But I'm sure that you will understand I can't come back to stay,
Though I have it on good authority that we'll meet again some day.

The chow up here's delicious - Ambrosia brand, it's named,
Once you've tasted this stuff, Friskies won't taste the same,
And where do they get this nectar, which thick and creamy comes,
It's not like other dairy products 'cause it don't give me the runs.
I haven't found the litter tray, and THIS perplexes me,
That however much I wolf down, I never have to pee.
But there are other plus points, which cannot be ignored,
My claws have all come back again and there are drapes here to be clawed.

Oh yes - I've got a comfy bed, just like mine down there at home,
So things here are quite adequate, I cannot gripe or groan;
But while I'm up here waiting, in my cat bed in the sky,
I'll regularly look in on you, and keep a watchful eye.

She is on a journey we cannot know for now. She is not in pain and knows no fear. And you may well know her presence again. Our thoughts are with you all and especially with Pipps, for the loss of her mother. But time will unbreak your hearts, knowing that she is with Mutt and may even meet Maggie May and Da Bear.

Sweet Sqweex, beloved cat friend,

Has left us here today.

She woke at dawn and had a snack,

Then quietly went away



We found her by her food dish

Just lying on the floor.

We loved her head-bump kisses.

Now there will be no more.



Just twelve short years of loving,

That’s all she had to give,

But always she’ll be with us

For as long as we shall live.

Actually Sqweex had a secret crush on Booker, but didn't say much about it.

Squeex snuggles in for a nice nap then gets inturrupted. Aunti Mable
comes by then in tow a few other cats plop right down as if at home.
She was all set to feel a bit sad a bit then, she got nose booped by a
dog! Then a couple of cats! One of them is the most scraggly cat with
long teeth that she's ever seen!

She's just about to drift off then Harri jumps on her back. Sighs,
this is not going to be a restful place.

Harri offers Squeex a ride but warns her, 'My new trainee Roscoe is
flying so it might be a little ruff!'.

Squeex looks over and sees a dainty yet manly himalayan sitting on a
pillow so he can reach the controls. There's an elegant large black cat
at his side that looks like something from egyptian pictures of long
ago. Harri hops in the co-pilor seat and they take off.....

There is a Rainbow Bridge newsgroup, that I may or may not check out.
Nice to know it's there.

I know how much Dan misses Harri and Amelia, Bookers' mom misses him,
Sapphire, Ralf de Ralph, to name a few. it's just heartbreaking when
they leave us :(
We gave them the best lives we could.
Jellicle Ball was so sad last year. I had MMS most of the way through it.

I always talk to our cats, they respond, sometimes.

The last quarter of 2015 and the first month of 2016 have gotten off to
a horrible start. All of the sweet, much-loved kitties that have left us
have left massive holes in our hearts, and the sheer number in such a
few short weeks is overwhelming.

I'm positive that Sqweex, Amelia, Harri, Booker, and all the other RPCC
kitties who have journeyed to the Bridge lately are having themselves a
wonderful nip party now.
