Here's the lowdown from snopes.com on the notoriously Neanderthal
"Andy Rooney" piece that's been making the rounds.

It doesn't really ring true anyway--Andy is cranky, but he is
old-fashioned civil-libertarian cranky, not bigoted and homophobic
cranky, bless his cranky heart.

A similar essay, called "A Bad American" has also been making the
rounds, attributed to George Carlin, who has also disowned it.

I should have checked Snopes out too. It did seem really overboard cranky.
