Need stray cat advice

I have a stray cat I have been feeding for over a year. She has come a
long way and has started to interact with me. But I need some advice
on what to do next. We are moving this month and I have made plans to
take her with us to the new house. My question is she is always
sitting outside and when she sees me she comes to my legs and rubs
herself, sometimes I get to pet her while she is rubbing herself but
when she catchs herself letting me pet her she swats at me and runs.
Then two minutes later she is back at my feet like she wants
something. I feed her twice a day but I think she wants attention.
What should I do next?
Thanks
Silvia

You'll have to trap her somehow. If you don't want to buy a humane
trap, see if you can borrow one from your animal control people. If
you have a cat carrier, you might be able to lure her in there with
a can of tuna or something like that and close the door behind her.
Then get her to the vet for a checkup, shots, and spay.

Someone else will have to tell her what to do once you get her to
the new house. That will be the hard part -- keeping her around
without scaring her to death, and having her run away.

How far away are you moving? If it's less than a few miles, the cat may return to you rold
neighborhood when you let it out. Of course if you're moving really far away and the cat is
confused and goes wandering around in a strange place, that could lead to trouble as well.

Or hopefully the people that buy your house will like cats and take on the responsibility for you.
