Bogus Emails
 

I have been getting bogus (hijacked emails) from alleged RPCA members.
Pam Shirk and Leslie Vaughn are two. The emails make no sense so I
suspect their accounts have been hijacked.

I get them from Pam's computer, too. I've emailed her a couple of times
to let her know about it, but haven't ever heard back. She recently posted
on Facebook, though, so I know she's around.

the virus might be on someone else computer.

A: NEVER click on attachments, even if you think you know the source.
B: Avoid "social media" like Facebook and Twitter - you have absolutely
NO guarantee that anything you read there is true!

Thanks for the warning. I received email this afternoon, supposedly from
Pam Shirk. It does not look like it contains an attachment, but I did not
even open it to see the details. Your warning told me to ignore it. In
addition, Yahoo flagged it as spam.

You can read it without opening it.

I don't know how to read Yahoo! mail without clicking on it to open the
mail. That would not open any links or attachments, of course. However,
Yahoo (not me) placed this message in my Junk mail. I do have private mail
(not through Yahoo) that can be read without opening it, although I do not
have mine set up to do that. I use Yahoo for any mail I receive through the
Internet. They are pretty good at sorting junk/trash from regular mail.
