Is your cat delicate or a digger? (Those of you with multiple
cats/boxes will likely have varying answers.) Sometimes I think Buffy is trying to dig her way to China! Buffy's litterbox, like her predecessor Persia, is in the master bath where the toilet and the tub are located. (The vanity/sinks are just outside of it.) In the middle of the night I can hear her in there, digging away. Sometimes I think she's slapping the box just to wake me up. I don't sleep very soundly anyway but just because I open my eyes doesn't mean I'm getting up at 3AM to play! So, delicate or a digger? Jill |

I often go into the bathroom to find litter flung all over the place. And he has a hooded litterbox! Joyce -- The heck with top and bottom -- I want relationships with strangeness and charm. |

She flings litter all over, too. I keep a whisk broom and dust pan handy. I have to take the mat that is under the box outside and give it a good shaking out on a regular basis. I take the bath mat up off the floor after I shower and drape it over the side of the tub. It's no fun getting out of the shower and stepping in gritty cat litter. Jill |

So, delicate or a digger? Minnie is a digger, in that I'll be sitting downstairs and I'll hear her moving filler around in her litter box upstairs, but she's a good kitty and doesn't launch the stuff out of the box and onto the floor. The only filler that winds up outside the box is what's stuck to her paws when she hops out John D. Kasupski Niagara Falls, NY |

I used to have a bath mat that I just left on the floor. Then one day I came home to find that somecat had used it to bury some poop. That was the end of that. I now have two bath mat-sized towels that I put down when I'm about to take a shower, and like you, hang back up when I'm finished. (My bathtub/shower has sliding glass doors, so I hang them over the top of that.) Joyce -- "Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive and then go do that. LOL!! That's a funny image. I can always hear Licky when he's digging around in there. He seems to do it for about 10 minutes. He might have OCD. :) Joyce -- "Don't ask yourself what the world needs. One Dearly Departed Cat I had was not averse to using the box, but now and then simply wanted to go outside. If I was in bed, I'm not the kind to get up and open the door. Ever hear a cat stomp? This one did. Hardwood hallway. Stomp from the door to the outside to the door to the bedroom. (and then make an irritated meow) A friend of mine said theirs did this too and they called it the **** Dance. Finally he'd throw in the towel and use the box. Only this time, he made sure to get down to the plastic bottom of the box with his claws: screet screet SCREET SCREET Hilarious. |
