Do you have pics of your cats online??

Apparently none of you are metaphysical and thinking too human. Do you fear that my theory might be true. I for one have a relationship with my cats and have found on many occasions when I try to pick up my cat Jade and kiss her on the head or hug her, she meows as if to state "oh come on daddy, not again, I am an adult kitty here." I think you here need to think outside the lines and put away your human way of thinking and actually talk to your cats. Re-read your post and come back and tell us you're not a fruitcake. If you can't come to that conclusion, read it again. Here's a clue. You seem to put human emotions on cats yet you say you pick up Jade and kiss her on the head and she meows and calls you daddy and says she's an adult. What if she is saying "get the **** off me, you idiot!"? How would you know that? [rpca removed from froup list] |

Cheryl,
I think you fear the truth. It certainly seems like it if you have to resort to name calling or other colorful metaphores in order to drive your point. Once again, how do you know that felines don't have human emotions? I think Mr. Spock said it best in Star Trek IV when they were trying to ascertain the meaning of the probe's call when it was causing our planet some problem, I quote: Dr McCoy: Oh really? You think that it is its way of saying, hi there to the people of the Earth?" Spock: "There are other forms of intelligence on Earth Doctor. Only human arrogance would assume that the message must be meant for man." What a wise man that Spock is, even though he may be a character on a sci-fi show/movie. He certainly allowed people to see what a lot of humans consider impossible. So I feel it is very possible for cats to have our same emotions. -- Panther TEK: Staying On Top Of All Your Computer Needs! www.members.cox.net/catprotector/panthertek Cat Galaxy: All Cats, All The Time! www.catgalaxymedia.com "Cheryl" wrote in message ... Again, I don't see how you can feel emotions are learned when in fact they
just can happen. The human psyche is just that. Yes some things can be taught like smelling a flower, or tasting food. But pure emotions like love can't be taught, they simply happen. You say that "it's not possible that they can feel a learned emotion without having had the experience that would have taught it. It doesn't work that way, I don't care what Spock says." Could it be fear that drives your viewpoint. How do you know what you say is true? It sounds like you are a being a bit close minded. -- Panther TEK: Staying On Top Of All Your Computer Needs! www.members.cox.net/catprotector/panthertek Cat Galaxy: All Cats, All The Time! www.catgalaxymedia.com "Agua Girl" wrote in message t... First off I am glad you recognize that is a "character" and not a real person. Cats can have some of our same emotions but if you know anything about the human psyche and where we get our emotions (and some how I am guessing you don't) you would know that most of our emotions are learned. We aren't born feeling humiliated, greedy, generous, prideful, envious..and a whole host of others. Those are emotions that are learned through the actions and response. Cats do not have the same experiences we have. The only action/response mechanism to trigger their emotions are the ones you subject them too. I'm sorry, I love my cat too but it's not possible that they can feel a learned emotion without having had the experience that would have taught it. It doesn't work that way, I don't care what Spock says. BTW..this isn't to say that you can't teach your cat to feel humiliated....but they dont just feel that way on their own..and neither do people! AG |

This isn't an opinion...it's what is taught The entire medical community could be wrong. They were wrong about the world being flat and they think dogs can't see colors but the pet psychic on tv is always saying this dog or that dog likes his red blanket. I'm just telling you what is the current understanding (by the experts, not by me) of how emotions work. BTW..the TV show merely said there were other forms of intelligence... didn't say that cats got humiliated when you put on bunny ears. As an anecdotal example. We had a golden retriever and ever summer she shed like crazy. We took her to a new groomer who suggested shaving her (not completely) before shedding season began. So we agreed. She came out all happy wagging her tail which now had this ridiculous puff on the end. I took one look at her and freaked... what had they done to my dog. Tail stopped wagging, confused look... Groomer and hubby both shushed me at the same time that I realized what I had done. I immediately told her how gorgeous she looked, how wonderful the cut was. From then on she happily got that stupid cut (sans puffy tail) every summer and couldn't be happier. She only knew to be humiliated or embarrassed by my negative input. She didn't get embarrassed the moment she was cut..she learned to be by my input. Get it? AG |

Isn't it funny that the so-called experts laughed at the notion of the
metaphysical as well. You need to stop thinking so human and expand your mind. -- Panther TEK: Staying On Top Of All Your Computer Needs! www.members.cox.net/catprotector/panthertek Cat Galaxy: All Cats, All The Time! www.catgalaxymedia.com "Agua Girl" wrote in message t...
