Nipsy sick? Nope. More on the other cats...

I do see your point. But it simply is not safe outside for unsupervised
domesticated animals. He "loves it outside" because that is all he has known
his whole life. When people have put cams on cats who spend the whole
day/night outside, they find that they do the exact same things they do
inside. Sleep a lot, play with whatever is at hand, eat, poop and pee. What
they do not do inside is get attacked, run over, set on fire or otherwise
get tortured by ****heads. This whole "I am depriving them of something if
they are not outside" thing is horse****. Cats love safety and comfort.
Fresh air? Put screens in and open the windows. My cats enjoy the birds and
squirrells and breeze, the smells of the outdoors, the warmth of the sun,
all from their window perches. They also enjoy being safe.

I feel that way, too. I truly feel sorry for the cats because some of
them really, really WANT to spend time outside! But, there are so many
dangers to them outside. A cats lifespan, if lived out of doors is far
less than 1/2 if allowed to spend time outside.

The thing is... it will take time, patience and perseverance to keep
that kitty inside, but once he gets used to it... You won't have
anymore issues :)

Agreed Cyber although it's safer if in the country (still risk then from
other animals but a bit area dependant. Like, Eastern La Mesa with all the
Coyotes is a 'no' but Outlaying areas near Clemson SC would have been
probably ok).

Same here. Daisy-cat is sitting in the sunroom, communing with the breeze
through the window. On the other side, warming on the grass an snoozing is
Cash-pup (fenced backyard).

You're even more right because I let them into the (fenced in)
backyard so they have actual contact with the outside and can dig in
the dirt and roll around all they want - weather permitting. Oddly,
when he goes into the back he stays right by the door on the deck and
doesn't even go to the grass.

He doesn't seem to wander much when out in the front though. He's
always within a few houses, and our house are only 18 feet wide so
that isn't really going far. When I come home he's always in the box
that I originally built for him before deciding that maybe I could
keep a fourth cat. He really likes being with his baby and Jet.

Well, this past weekend was very marginally better. He was out during
the day but in at night, and there was slightly less hissing and
general mayhem. I really thought it was getting better but then, as I
was getting ready to leave this morning, Marlo stood at the bedroom
door and refused to let Scooter in. Hissing and noises I've never
heard before Scooter arrived.

And what do I do about Jet and Baby? I can't take them all in.

I know. You're a good guy. You also have your wife to contend with.
