7-year-old cat with "smoker's cough" !

Take him to a vet and get a thoracic radiograph. *Chances are it will
show the diagnostic "donuts and tramlines" which are caused by thickened
bronchial walls and trapped air.

ITA with this....

At Wits End

Have you tried some of the Cat Attract litter? When our Sadie was
tiny, she battled roundworm and coccidia for weeks, and had soft poos.
She started going anywhere (guessing she associated the box...

Microchiped question

Home Again DOES charge an annual fee. I believe they always have
charged this feel.

Avid, another pet microchip company, does not. With Avid (all our cats

Hairballs - pumpkin - taste

Ken,

How about giving her a small amount of oil per day (like olive oil,
vegetable oil)? Like 1 t. per day. She "might" like the flavor.

This is not science, but for a few years I added 1/2 capsule...

Hairballs - pumpkin - taste

Ken,

IMO I would avoid feeding that much tuna. A tidbit every now and then
is ok, but that amount could cause long-term health problems.

Can she tolerate those "hairball treats?" Lots of cats like...

Sticky Paws

To each their own. My biggest "con" is the price--they are not
inexpensive for what you get. As far as performance, it works great--
sticks to all types of furniture without damaging it. (I wouldn't...

Any large houseplants that cats don't like?

Mine don't care for the mother-in-law's tongue, and that gets quite
large. I'd suggest staying away from anything fern like (ask me how I
know. . .)

On the smaller side, they don't bother my...

Cat-proofing my mattress?

Rhino,

I would never suggest declawing, so no worries there. I would strongly
suggest putting a scratching post near the areas they scratch, so they
scratch the post and not your bed/mattress.

Our...

Was the lump near where the injection was given?

Related to the URI, have you though about putting him on L-Lysine (an
animo acid)? I've heard that it can be very helpful for some cats with
this...

update on cats eating dirt

Instead of buying something new for your soil, you can use aluminum
foil to cover the soil, or stick pinecones or even plastic forks so
the tines are facing up.

I am glad you talked to the vet.

Dirty claw or something more serious? UPDATE

Nadia,

I wish more cat owners were as proactive as you are! I'm glad the claw
gunk was nothing, and that you were able to "interview" this new vet.

Yes. Female cats need to copulate to stimulate ovulation, so it's
quite possible she had several mates.
