No DSL

Celeste,

I had the geek Squad come because I needed an ethernet inserted in my
computer for the DSL. While here, the Geek said he'd hook up my DSL for me.
No big deal. But it didn't work. I...

I am in NY. Since I use the satellite for TV all I need is internet

Through the electric lines would be great.

Yes, Ethernet card was installed. I was actually on with DSL 52% when I was
again disconnected permanently. Optimum Online would have installed the
Ethernet for me. Live and learn.

Yes, I filtered all lines except the modem's line. That was unfiltered.
Main problem, was 52% connected when I got disconnected. Other problem, a
technician who failed to show up yesterday...

Verizon sucks. After a week of no calls from them and broken appointment
dial-up looks mighty good. Next week I am getting Optimum Online!

Hope they have this news group.

Al died today

Sorry, Rich. Al was lucky to have you. Our cats have much shorter life
spans than we do so that we can care for them their whole lives. But it
sure leaves us very sad sometimes.

Moving to DSL

Thanks for the advice but like I said, I just don't go inside computers. I
know installing this card is a fairly simple thing for a Geek to do. That's
all he has to do and I'll do the rest. My...

I gave up cable because their service here was awful. I use Direct TV with
the satellite on my roof. Their broadband costs hundreds of dollars.

Thanks for the info. Well, hooking up is not as easy as I thought. I
didn't have an "Ethernet". Verizon on-line tech support is useless. They
sent me to Radio Shack where I was sold an incorrect...

Moving to DSL

Am switching to DSL and hope I can stay in this newsgroup. Verizon says it
has "some" newsgroups but I did pick this group out of over 1,000.

I've loved being in this group.

Will an new cat pee on my carpet where my old cat peed?

Tabby,
I had the same thought myself. What did she teach her child to do with
her when she becomes old and ill!

Will an new cat pee on my carpet where my old cat peed?

A new cat will definitely pee where the last cat peed and then find some new
places like on your bed and your kitchen table.

It's a shame you didn't take your last cat to a vet where you most...

Cats totally destroy all their toys

How about a nice, tall cat tree. Expensive but it can go a long way. They
will love it and they are not easy to destroy.

Do cats scratch on leather furniture?

I love my leather furniture. It is very easy to clean. There are a few

pieces, anyway. I think these scratches were from...

Otto's dental work, annoyed with vet

So glad Otto's all right. The vet handed you the meds to try to make up for
the shots you didn't want. You shouldn't be billed for them but what can
you do.
