Goodbye Emily - my favorite cat and mouser

Please accept my condolences. It's hard, I know. Emily was a lucky cat to
have you in her life.

Update on "bald belly syndrome"

Thanks. Tips like this are exactly what I'm hoping for when I post to a
newsgroup like this. I never heard of Granicks Bitter Apple. If Ted keeps
licking, I'll look for it.

Update on "bald belly syndrome"

It's been a month since I posted that my 9yo dsh Ted was diagnosed with bald
belly syndrome, which is basically feline OCD -- licking the hair off his
hind legs and belly. He was on Valium for two...

Cat in Heat

Have your cat spayed. Female cats do suffer while they are in heat. Spayed
females live longer, healthier lives.

urgent - fear of cat bite

Yeah, I've been there. One of my cats bit the bejeezus out of me while I
was pilling her one day, and I came to one of the cat ngs for advice. I got
an odd group of replies that day, skewed...

Gail's advice is good. Keep the wound clean. If it gets infected, get to
your doctor as soon as its convenient. If you start to see a dark line run
toward your heart from the wound, RUN to the...

Put her toys in her water bowl ?

So she'll have all her stuff in one place? Like, a child piles things up.

Why is she biting after being petted ?

Yeah, one of my cats sometimes bites me when I STOP petting her.

The rules change every day with these guys.

Why is she biting after being petted ?

Generally, if one of my cats' tail starts to twitch and/or the pupils start
to dilate, I know s/he's getting overstimulated and may bite and/or scurry
away soon. If I just stop, s/he'll stay.

My cat has "bald-belly syndrome"

One of my three DSH's, a black 9yo neutered male named Ted, recently started
licking the hair on his tummy excessively, leaving a large, downy area of
near-baldness. He also "scrubbed" a couple...
