CP described a cat seemingly in dire straits, declawed, abandoned,
and lost at his apartment complex. He was urged to take the cat in
temporarily until permanent lodging could be found. He mumbled
something about not having the money and he hadn't actually seen
the cat, then mysteriously dropped the subject.
