Can they test cats for these things like they do with people?

I'm going to take her to the vet so that I can get a referral to a
specialist. I was hoping I might get some ideas on what questions to
ask and what can be determined realistically. I would also love to
know what has helped other cats as this situation is a little
different than just being at home. I take her to shows, and I need a
way to assure her that I am nearby when she is being judged. If she
knows I am there, she is fine. If she thinks I have left her alone,
she gets upset. Obviously, she cannot get glasses or contacts like a
person, so it is more about determining the actual problem and then
finding ways to adapt.
