Cash, a little Shi Zhu, and a Mancat belch as they finish brunch.
The ladies look at them funny then Daisy-chan and Iowna belch and
everyone cracks up.

Over a hill, 2 local kina mancat kittahs show and join the group.
They are wearing leis and sandals, more is not needed here.

Cash grins as the mancat from Hawaii has hot pink sandals and he
loves hot pink!

Settling in, they have a few more munchies. Daisy-chan loads a
plate for Harri with a ducky wing, and 2 huge lumpia and heads off
to deliver it. She leaves it quietly by Harri who seems to be
taking a nap, and heads back.

By the time she returns, the new local mancat is flexing his
muscles and warming up for a wood load. Cash offers to help but
is diverted by Iowna who points out the one spot to the river
that needs to be dug down sos smaller older kittahs and doggies
can get to the river. He shrugs and high-5's the local fellow
and starts digging while the other local mancat helps. Mosey
jumps along to help with the wood load.

As Daisy-chan returns, 3 more local kittahs arrive to help set up.
They set to weaving floor mats from local plants. They work
swiftly and in 2 hours they have a large one for under the big
tent.

It is now time for the noon nap as the wood arrives. Settling in,
they all nap on the new mats, Cash dreaming a little of his
sandals arriving in time. He's not a total clothes hound, but
well, he hopes they get there in time.

Lucy Lu gets a moment of startle as Iowna tucks her feet under her
tail but then she laughs and lets Iowna warm there. Shortly all
you hear is a combination of purrs and doggie snores.

Iowna snuffles. Now we all know only man things snore and ladies
snuffle so it had to be a snuffle. Iowna's snuffle wakes Cash and
Lucy Lu. They blink a few times and grin at one another.

They stretch a bit then grab the cart. With Cash pulling, they can
get 6 logs. That brings them to what they need now and tomorrow
they can get more for the Luau fires. The local mancats are also
wakend by the 'snuffle' and snickering, go to cut some leaves for
the pit.

Iowna slumbers on peacefully, aware she snuffles like a lady.
Unaware her friends were being polite about it.

Cash and Lucy Lu return with a double batch of logs and Mosey helps
line them in the pit over large stones from the cave.

Mosey gets the fire going as Cash and the local kine go with a big
cart to get the pig. It's a BIG pig so it takes a bit to wash it and
clean it. Once done, they wrap it in banana leaves then cover it
with wet mud and lower it into the pit that is now mostly hot coals.

Working quickly, they clean and wash 2 ducks and wrap in straw and mud
and add them in at the head. With a final layer of damp straw and
banana leaves, they cover it over and add the dirt back on.

Iowna wakes and stretches stiffly then Daisy-chan takes her back home
for her medicines and some quick meowmie hugs. They come back with
backpacks filled with dinner and 3 days of Iowna's tramadol neatly
split to 4 servings a day and associated pill pockets.

Cash roots around and pulls out some herring and chopped ham and
whisks it off to Harri who is again napping (though her plates of
lunch are empty) and drops it quietly off then heads back (aftr a
side trip for some daddy hugs).

As they get back, dusk decends. Daisy-chan has set out some battery
operated lights that turn on at dusk and recharge in the sunlight.
The line the way to the river where a sand pile is on the right
(kittahs) and a grassy spot is to the left (doggies and others). The
pit is now outlined with rocks and at the corners, are tiki lamps.
Sitting along the ersatz kitchen are glass multicolored citronella
candles in a second layer of safe pyrex containers.

Thre are unlit tiki lamps waiting to be buried and in the distant end
of the lights, you can see futons and tents waiting to be assembled.

2 of the local Kine kittahs pull out drums and one a banjo and begin
music while the other 2 stand to dance. Slow and soft, they do true
Hawaii dances, not the frenetic belly dance sort. Now and again they
grab someone watching to dance with them. Mosey turns out to be very
accomplished!

Eventually they douse the lights and turn in on futons laying under
the big tent cover. A light rain drifts down but it's not enough to
bother anything.

The cave is being made ready by the others and Rebecca.

Waking in the morning, the pig arrives and is quickly dressed out by da
local kine kittahs who know all about how to do that. They wrap it in
straw and banana leaves, add a few final logs to the pit then a large
block and tackle is setup and every paw turns to help pull the pig into
the pit. With so many, the work is easy but they seriously appreciate
Cash's extra muscles in the mix!

The pit is covered with more straw and banana leaves then a final
cover. One small part is blocked with a metal plate. That is where
the docks and chickens will go, encased in red clay mud and straw.
It's too early to start them yet. They go in tomorrow morning with the
plate removed then laid over the top.

Looking about, they tackle the final tables, plenty of chairs, then
check to see if Rebecca needs help. She has soft cushions in a big
crate that need to be placed about for seating so they do that.

Then they break out calderas so they can safely have bonfires for the
party. The calderas even have lids for the gentle Hawaiian rains so
the wood won't get wet.

They look over the boxes and find the really big tent-top which comes
in 3 pieces that get lashed together and have drop down sides if it get
windy and rainy, though the forecast says it will be bright and clear.

Then Cash sets off with the scraggly Mancat and brings back 3 final
loads of wood. When they get back, pup tents and other smaller ones
have sprinkled the landscape and the boxes of dry ice and food have
arrived. Daisy-chan and Iowna have it half loaded in the kitchen while
the local kittahs put out propane cookers and woks then cover them to
keep any dust out.

Neatly out of sight are the wood crates everything came in. Tearing
back down will be quick and transport back was already arranged with
the delivery.

As the sun rises to noon, they realize there isn't that much left to do
but everyone is hungry. Cash pretends to steal 3lbs of raw bacon but a
laughing trio of mancats block him and make him fork it over. They
fire up a propane stove and the ladies clamor 'guys turn to cook!'.

With a grin, Cash puts on an apron and starts chopping whatever the
local mancats hand him. He's not much of a cook, preferring his food
raw when you get down to it, but he's not a bad side chopper. Meantime
Iowna follows a recipe for King Hawaiian bread.

Shortly folks are grabbing plates and filling them with enough pupus to
make a meal. The bread can rise while they take a siesta.

Settling in to eat, one by one they fill up and start to nodd off.
Grinning, Daisy-chan leads the charge to the big mat where they can
sleep in one big pile. They deftly lead Iowna to the softest spot and
kittah tails wrap her ankles. They look about and smile. They are
tired enough to sleep through her ...snuffles...

Shortly all you hear is a bit of purring, and a not so ladylike
'snuffle'. Everynow and again the snuffles soften to a sort of song
and little feet seem to twitch as if she were dancing.
