I hate to say this, but if you went for your masters you could sweep floors
at McDonalds! Friend of mine works for DelMonte - they had a customer
service job opening - answer phones take complaints or compliments.
Basically an entry level job, all you are really doing is talking on the
phone - don't even know what the salary was - needed a bachelor's to even be
considered.

I feel for you! I really do, I've been in the tough financial spots (though
nobody to support but me and kitties) and it's a scary situation to be in.

I'm sure you have tried monster.com before - but keep looking, it's how I
found my job. Maybe something will pop up. Also something called
craigslist - there are local listings, I think they have job opportunities.
Default page is for San Fran, there are other US cities listed.

Don't know where you are in US. Pedigree/Whiskas is made in Vernon
California - not sure if there are any jobs there, but you can visit the
website from time to time (www.mars.com - look at bottom for "careers at
Mars"). Openings across US for variety of jobs - some computer related some
not.

I really feel for you - I honestly wish there was more I could do to help!
Good luck in your job search, and everything else as well!

And now for my rant - I've got a Bachelor of Science degree
in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Cal Poly,
Pomona. I've got more than 25 years of experience as a
computer programmer, system administrator, and software
engineer. So how come the only job I can find right now is
driving a semi for $.29/mile? I stay out on the road for two
to three weeks at a time, get to see my wife and my kitties
for maybe two days at the end of that period, then back on
the road again. And the miles I get are so few that we are
having big troubles just keeping our utilities paid.

I really do enjoy the work - driving a truck is fun. But I'd
be a lot happier if I could see my wife and my furkids every
night, and could pay my utilities without having to scramble.
