I have read that there are health benefits in scheduled feedings as opposed
to free feeding. But would it hurt if I gave her three meals instead of two,
i.e. the same amount spread out over three feedings, one at 8 am, one at 2
pm, and one at 8 pm?

Not that I know of.
After all, a calorie is a calorie.
Many people feed three times a day instead of twice. It's just often hard for
those of us who are gone all day to do 3 feedings, as 2 would be too close
together either in the am or pm.
3 is probably optimal.

My opinion, obviously.
