Gotta wonder about someone who wants a conversation and then munges their
addy so your offline comments get bounced.

What's to "wonder"? That's the whole point! Why would
people post to newsgroups if they wanted off-line
correspondence? (A distorted return address also keeps a
certain amount of spam out of your inbox.)
