Default The Ghost Cat

The big winter storm that's led to a lot of chaos in England hasn't
affected us much in eastern Scotland but it has been windy. And our
kitchen door, with the cat flap, faces south-west where the wind's
coming from.
Result: every so often the flap blows open with a bang. Whereupon
Marblecake goes into "strange cat spotted!" mode and stalks silently off
towards the kitchen with her fur fluffed up and her ears swivelling like
radar antennas. And seems rather disappointed when the ghost doesn't
want to fight.

Does she search for the ghost cat or just accept that there isn't one
or.... have you thought of this? there really is another cat which comes
in through the flap only it's you that can't see it, marblecake already
knows it, it's around the house all the time.

The ghost cat kept making return visits for a couple of days (and given
the weather forecast, will probably be back tomorrow). Marblecake got
particularly freaked when she was eating, since the food bowls are only
a few feet from the cat flap - was the ghost going to steal her Kit-e-Kat?

It then seemed that the ghost moved in and possessed Marblecake's tail.
Must ... exorcize ... tail! The Tail Demon followed her round the
house for hours. Crashes, thumps and somebody saying "meow" backwards
well into the night.
