Turning over a new leaf is one thing. Proselytizing on FB is

better not preach at me.

I heartily agree with that! To me, religion is a very personal matter -
each of us chooses the path to God that feels right to us, and unless
someone ASKS for our input, that's how it should remain. (I doubt whether
God cares - the important thing is to be the best human being we can be,
not what form our worship takes.)

I totally agree. A funny thing happened when I was visiting my aunt and
uncle last Tuesday. Some man came to the door selling new driveways and he
suddenly became a red hot evangelist. My aunt and uncle are Mormons, that
church is their whole life.
I was amused at first as Auntie did not let him get to her - they debated on
the doorstep for some time. She is 88 and an absolute wonder, she remained
very calm while he began to get heated. When he told her she should learn
how to read the Bible I was stunned, I told him he didn't know what he'd
just said and I had to walk off before I got annoyed.
I don't think he realised what he'd taken on - she gave him a pamphlet, he
gave her one, and they agreed to both read them. Auntie asked him to come
back when he'd read it and they would discuss it again. No sign of him yet.
Hoisted by his own petard.
