Mischief was begging for attention, and didn't want to be in my lap so
she jumped up and draped onto her usual spot on the back of my office
chair. I petted her and she rubbed on her head on the chair.

I decided to brush her while she was in semi-bliss. So i picked up
the brush and started brushing.

Things were going well until she did the elevator butt and raised her
tail. And right in mid-stroke, SQUIRT!!

She barely missed my face but got the majority of my shoulder and
chest. I looked down in horror and then looked up. Mischief had a
glimmer of "Oh s***," then turned it into "Uh...look at how PRETTY i
am...right? uh, Mom?"

Into the bathroom we went, with her protesting every step of the way.
On went the shower and in went the BOTH of us. I washed her butt
thoroughly, which she didn't like. She squirmed out of my grasp and
was out of the shower like a bat out of hell. But she wasn't out of
the bathroom and started meowing and pawing at the door. I rubbed her
down with a towel and then opened the door.

After I took a thorough shower, I came out to the living room, where
Mischief was FURIOUSLY washing herself.

The BF asked "what happened? I heard loud meowing and then Mischief
skulked in here all damp and looking all ****ed off."

Ahem...

Do NOT squirt butt juice on mommy....

she took a moment to stop cleaning herself and stretched out, giving
her best "I'm really cute" look. Hmph...

cats.....

My cats have never done this, I did not realise they even could. What
would
motivate them to do it?

the anal glands are like muscles and sometimes when experiencing fear
cats and dogs can express them, sometimes along with other bodily
fluids. I usually see this case when I'm working on a fearful dog or
cat. I'll be trying to restrain it to get blood, or take a
temperature and then afterwards, you can smell it in the air. Quite
scentful too. phew!

I've seen Mischief do it when she's startled, or sometimes when she's
over stimulated. Imp and Mayhem rarely do it at will.

My guess is that in this incident I was brushing her back legs and I
might have accidentally brushed her booty which startled her into
squirting.

Then again, this IS the cat that expressed her anal glands all over my
RVT notes when I was studying for the state boards...and I don't
recall what caused her to do it.

I have never experienced such a thing. Neither from KFC in her long life or
from Boyfriend.
I would be worried if my cat squirted what you call butt juice.
