Default Jack's special story

Yes I could....I was talking with my cousin, whose cat has done so
well on one of these Standard Process whole food supplements, and
there's an immune booster I may try. I wouldn't be opposed to learning
more about other techniques as well.

I have nothing specific to the condition but have had elderly cats who were
largely toothless. One thing I do is feed pets broth (cats especially
though Dogs like it as well). I bake a chicken and save the bones then put
it all in the crockpot (no salt added) and make a batch.

This helps hydrate the cat and is provided in addition to water in another
bowl. Small amounts fed so it doesn't spoil. Cats generally love this at
about 2-3TB amounts. I make beef and pork bone versions too. What it does
is add water, calcium, and natural glucosamine to the diet. Not many
calories but every little bit can help.

Specifics: I seldom defat it when it's for the pets because the fat added
is a benefit for them. I don't however leave more than a little floating
fat for the cats as they oddly don't like that sometimes (varies with cat).
I keep it in the fridge then just warm to about room temp with the microwave
and set it out. My dog gets about 1/2 cup at noonish, cat gets 3 TB.

I've not had a cat yet develop kidney or any other issues related to not
drinking enough since I started this. It won't help any immunodeficiency
issues but may help bolster things.

Time spent on my end: about 5 mins to load bones in the crockpot, water,
then about 5 on the other end to pour off the broth and put it in the fridge
with some in the freezer since I generally make 1 gallon at a time. Some
gets saved and salted for our own use with spices added.
