I was talking to someone the other day about my new white cat and she asked
me if she was deaf. I said no and she said that most white cats were. I
have never heard this before, is it true?

Not really most of them, but a high percentage of blue-eyed white cats are
deaf; and also odd-eyed cats deaf in the one ear that's on the side of the blue
eye. . The genetics involved are quite interesting. You can type in "white cats
deaf" as search words on google and several sites will come up on the subject.
