I forgot to give examples of affection from my own cat.

I guess the only evidence left of affection from my cat, is sometimes

when
I put my face or hand near her face, she will sometimes lick it. She

knows
not to lick my eyes, mouth, or ears. Although, I sometimes wonder if it

is
coincidental, considering she is grooming herself at the time. So maybe
her licking my nose means she wants some alone time?

I've got one at the moment that likes to suckle earlobes. I suspect
she was taken from her mother too young - I reckon she was only about
6 weeks when she came into my care (far too young IMO). Ever since
then she's gone for anyone's earlobes that will let her suckle. Two
years on and she's still doing it. She's otherwise healthy. happy and
content, but when she gets a lobe she goes off in a dizzy purring haze
of pleasure. Funny cat. I've never known it before - she doesn't try
to suck on anything else (I've heard of oriental breeds who like
wool), just earlobes!

I've got a norwegian forrest cat too who likes to suckle erlobes or mostly
the left at the moment :-) If we try to move him to the other side he gets
a little annoyed and tries to go back to the left side. He does this every
day when we come back from work. I still treasure this moment even if i
my earlobe suffers a little :-)
He too was taken a bit early from his mom , so I think this behavior will
pass when he gets older.
He never sits on my lap ,but is quite affectionate in other ways.
I love that he gives me a little spesial mjau when I stroke him and there
are all these small think that he do that gives me a richer life.
Like that I get a really fuzzy feeling when I see him strech his whole
length in content and for a moment think I see him smile. And when I see him
chase the bigger cat next door :-) , and the way he looks at me ,squinting
his eyes when i tell him how good a cat he is , and just the way he poses
sometimes .
All these things gives me more than the time he spends licking my earlobe ,
so I will never see a problem if he stops doing that at one point :-)
