Hi --- You may want to rule out any allergies to carpet. I especially
can't be around new carpeting. The chemicals give me headaches and
make me nauseous.

If it really is the cats, sometime people with allergies can live with
them as long as they keep them off their bed. My dad is allergic to
cats, but lives with NINE indoor cats. He keeps the bedroom door
closed and does fine (except when he falls asleep on the den couch ---
then he'll have an allergy attack). It seems the main thing is to not
sleep on surfaces with cat fur.

I hope your son will outgrow this allergy. My cousin did. As a kid
she'd have horrible asthma attacks around animals, but by her 20's was
able to have an indoor cat.
