Easter lillies toxic to cats
Thanks....the 411 is useful to those who like and buy them....I've always
disliked Easter lilies.....like Sanford & son, I always connected them w/dead people; i.e. funerals. Good for the Evil 3 though; they'll never see any, much less chomp any. Hi All,
If your cats are like mine, they like to sample house plants. I just saw a news item on TV that said that all parts of the lily are toxic to cats. It destroys their kidneys. Very good info. to share, and timely. I just wanted to add that all of the lily family are also poisonous, AFAIK. I had a friend whose cat began vomiting and steadily got worse, they ended up tracing it to her seeing him lying in the day lillies in the yard and munching on them. She didn't know. The cat died from kidney failure. It was those orange lillies that grow like wild flowers. Sherry |

I have to wonder why the cats don't sense they shouldn't eat something like that, but then who am I to know what a cat thinks? I'm grateful Persia doesn't like to chomp on plants, not that I have many. There are lists of toxic plants to be found easily by doing an Internet search. Google is your friend. Jill |
