Scratched!

Boyfie hates it but I still make him do it every year. He gets his jabs and a check up for heart and teeth and stuff. As does Tigger (which would not happen if I don't insist he goes along with Boyfie for their injections and check-up) It also wouldn't have happened about Maisie but luckily I insisted that we got her injections, she is a good dog spoilt and my sister in law was afraid to take her to the vet. It's done. Maisie will not like me for ever but I don't care. TBH, I would ashamed of her if she was mine. She has no manners and that's my brothers fault, not hers. Well, if she was mine it would have been quite different as she cannot even walk on a short lead which annoys me. |

Like Persia, he kept away from me for a day. He's always somehow known things. He sometimes jumps on the kitchen worktop to see if there is food there, but never when I am in the room, and he jumps down immediately if he hears me approaching. "What me? on the worktop? no chance.." I've never corrected him for doing it, he just *knows* somehow that it's a bit naughty. He also "knows* he isn't allowed in my bedroom and when I found him in there once (years ago) he nearly fainted. He used to faint at the vets, so that suggests that me finding him in my bedroom was a stressful experience. I keep my bedroom door shut 24/7 because I am a really bad sleeper not because I wouldn't like him there. But I left it slightly open one day and as cats do, he was exploring the unexplored. Poor chap. It was "OMG, I'm not supposed to be here" Tweed Rusty also knew he when did something I didn't like. He would jump down and ran away looking qilty when I caught him on my dining table licking leftover stuff from my dinner plate, or licking drips from the bathroom sink. One time I was upset and told him to go to his room. And he did, just like a kid. I also had my bedroom door closed all the time except at night when Rusty slept in his room with the door closed. Otherwise he would come bang on my bedroom door. One time I didn't closed his door properly. He came into my room in the middle of the night and jumped on my bed. Gave me quite a scare. Winnie |

Poor chap. It was "OMG, I'm not supposed to be here" Tweed ~~~~~~~ I think cats also recognize when we are sick or not feeling well. There were times when I would get annoyed at *myself* and say something loud in annoyance. My wonderful Holly used to run *to* me (never *away*) when that happened, and it really made me feel good. I fell head-first off a step ladder last December and screamed as I fell. I could not move for a couple of minutes. Holly came running and licked me on my cheek. That was such a loving gesture! Incidentally, I was really lucky. The next day, I looked like someone had punched me in the face. I still have a very light red mark on my forehead where I landed, but it is almost gone. I'm really lucky I did not get a concussion. I had Holly cremated, and I scattered her ashes around a mahonia holly right outside the sunroom. It had symbolic meaning--first, the name (Holly and holly); second, the holly I used is right outside one of Holly's favorite places when she would lie on the top "edge" of the little sofa beside that window. "Joy" wrote in message news:9RD3u.34299$ You may not have been annoyed, but you were shocked, and it probably hurt. He could certainly pick up on that. Joy Well, I have to admit it did hurt a bit and I might have said "Ow!" Boyfie seems to be a very sensitive cat. Tweed |

She landed awkwardly, missed her mark. She extended her back claws to get traction, digging into my shoulder. They're just scratches, not puncture wounds. But I yelled, "OUCH!" (I also got a face full of soft belly fur when she scrambled up.) I've cleaned the scratches with hydrogen peroxide. She didn't mean to scratch me. This might be why she didn't sleep with me last night. Maybe she thought I was upset with her. I did hear her a couple of times in the middle of the night, eating her dry Rx food. Of course, after daylight, she joined me on the bed and gently tapped me on my nose. Time to wake up! It's so sweet. Jill Boyfie accidentally scratched me once. He was well asleep on my lap, stretched and fell off, grabbing me on the way down. Of course, like Persia, he didn't mean to scratch me and like her he kept away from me for a day. Interesting. He often swipes at my legs when I walk past him, and this is something he's done ever since he's been here. At first he used to scare me because it was intentional. The same with the biting. I can't imagine why he does this. He gets the most love of any of my cats. -- CAPSLOCK–Preventing Login Since 1980. |
